- Comment One thing though, I notice I can only sample tracks that can be bought as a single mp3 (so with the yellow 0,99 button next to it). Tracks that are album only keep loading and don’t play.

- Comment And that’s fine with me! As long as there’s a curated and well put together listening experience that lets you listen to the score in the optimal way in the first place, I’m fine with other releases existing on a later moment when there’s a demand for it!

- Comment 74 minutes actually sounds good to me. Especially now that each composer dumps the full cue list on digital, Hans comes up with something that fits on a single disc! And I’m sure a score like this warrants such a length. Especially for a film over 2,5 hours, that means he took the time to create ...

- Comment Good to hear! Does the film cut off at a satisfactory point, btw? As in, could it be a self contained story if somehow Part 2 doesn’t come through? At least some kind of closure? Or does it end on a cliffhanger?

- Comment So, the first trailer is up now! Mainly using that Alice in Wonderland-Jefferson Airplane song, but ending on the title with Don Davis’ iconic Matrix-sound, hinting that they won’t be abandoning that sound? Also, I watched the trailer premiere on YouTube, which started off with two minutes of ...

- Comment Yeah, I wonder if they’ll bring in Juno Reactor for additional music in the action scenes like they did before. I mean, that could still happen. Even though Tykwer and Klimek proved with Lola Rennt that they’re able to bring that techno-energy by themselves. This could be a return of sorts to ...

- Comment Soooo, Tykwer and Kleimek will be composing the score for The Matrix Resurrections. Thoughts? If you ask me, this could be either very cool or an extreme letdown. Given how Tykwer en Kleimek’s scores have been alternately incredibly impressive (Perfume, Cloud Atlas) or very boring (The ...

- Comment True, as painful as I find it to admit it. I recently read Walt Disney’s biography and, knowing what kind of person he was, it’s hard to imagine he would be happy with where his company ended up. The only originality coming from Disney being Pixar, despite the Toy Story sequels.

- Comment Yeah, I think the superhero trend may count as the longest ever Hollywood trend by now? The problem is of course how studio’s have become addicted to ‘built-in audiences’, giving the films they churn out to have a certain certainty of success. Also, the fact that a complete film studio ...

- Comment I’ve heard it a couple times by now, because I enjoy the orchestral ambience, and I know there are themes, I just don’t find them particularly strong or compelling. And good that you enjoyed the film, but no, I won’t be going. I’m a bit Marvelled out by now ;).

- Comment Agree completely with your post, Alan. And you’re right, Lukas owns a digital copy but I’m sure Carrie has the same one. So if Lukas deletes his, the Goldsmith’s are still in possession of the digital manuscript. This makes the whole ‘journalist preserving a source’ argument moot, as that ...

- Comment NP: SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS - Joel P. West It’s above average in composition, I enjoy the orchestralness and eastern touches while it lasts, but the lack of strong thematic writing makes you forget it the moment it’s over.

- Comment I think the whole thing is… weird. He seems to have little disregard for the wishes of the Goldsmith’s, as it’s clear they want to keep the manuscript in a tight circle. And yet he lets someone else (within the industry!) read it, apologizes over it, yet refuses to give back the manuscript, ...

- Comment Yeah, I wouldn’t be that negative just yet. Who knows, maybe he surprises, he hasn’t been able to really show off his composition chops yet. And I’m personally quite happy they’re not going with Silvestri (as I’ve never been emotionally moved or wowed by any Silvestri yet).
