- Comment I thought Kurzel's score was great. Far more consistency in sound and approach throughout. Wallfisch was a little bit of reference there, a little bit of Goldsmith-isms there, suddenly a big romantic theme, some big electronic scapes, a lot of pulsating dronebeats. It's like it was scored using ...

- Comment The negativity (if there is some) comes from the fact that it's a totally disparate score. It doesn't have any identity of its own, nor a singular vision. Sure, there are individual, fine moments, but a singular vision is an ESSENTIAL part of any score. And it fails in that regard, like the film ...

- Comment
Joep wrote There must be another thread regardingovertly long releases.... I recently listened to a 4 disc CD release of Tekken 8, which is just under 3 hours. While not as extremely long as a variety of notorious examples, and as a casual listen, and the fact that there are few ...

- Comment Sad to see Belgium go, but they haven't impressed that much. Lukaku's three(?) cancelled goals was kinda spectacular, in its own way. Spain won deservedly yesterday, against France (who I normally root for, but they've been terrible). Tonight is The Netherland vs. England, both teams have ...

- Comment In the midst of my summer holiday now. Spent a week down south (in my hometown & at our island), then heading to Fur on Friday for an all-too-brief week, but with my entire family for once. Both parents, my brother, my sister and her husband and their three kids. That rarely happens. Weather ...

- Comment That's more in line with the "Grand Whittling Project" thread, if I understand you correctly -- i.e. downsizing scores to the typical Varese 30-minute runtime of yesteryear. Cool project, though!

- Comment
FalkirkBairn wrote It's certainly a grand project. Have you calculated roughly how long listening to your collection will take you?
iTunes says 94 days of continous playing. Obviously, I can't play continously, so multiply that by 3 or 4, I think. I suppose we're talking a ...

Well, I didn't watch the whole game live -- I watched Switzerland-Germany instead since they were on at the same time, but I watched & scrolled through it afterwards. - Comment Yes, sad news, but expected given his health situation for a while now. I've been listening to some of his stuff recently - BLISS, UNFAITHFUL, FINDING NEVERLAND, WAR & PEACE, HACHI.... Some of the music can become a bit "samey", but it should be possible to whittle down a bit.

- Comment 215 friggin' Euros?!?!? Wow. I paid €56 for his Berlin concert in 2021 (for a choir seat), so I see the cheapest at €61 isn't that much higher. But still a lot of money, especially with the current, crappy exchange rate for the Norwegian krone.
