Thank you, Volker. He was in Berlin just a week before Oslo. You didn't think of seeing him then? (I keep forgetting where you live in Germany).
    I am extremely serious.
  1. Sounds like it was such a fabulous and fun time! So neat that you got to be part of a little piece of history by being able to see Morricone on his last tour. What a shame about the venue though. Glad there was a good variety of selections to enjoy and thanks for sharing your experience with those of us who couldn't go! smile

80 km east of Cologne, so Berlin is a bit away. Anyway, I believe the concert was on a Monday? As a teacher you can't take one or two days off. Comes with the job. wink
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.

It was indeed, despite the sound. Hopefully, he'll able to compose scores for several more years, even if he's retiring from concerts.

Volker, did you ever consider seeing him when he was in Cologne a couple of years ago? Or Frankfurt?

  3. Great write-up, Thor. Thanks for sharing. I'll never get to see Morricone in concert. Shame about the sound, but how cool that you were able to be there with the maestro himself!

I certainly did. I think the price tag was too high for my liking. And, somehow the magic of seeing a composer in person doesn't work with me so much. Though a can very much understand that it appeals to others. If I hear the music in some general film music concert, it makes me happy.

... and I envy you anyway. It's complicated. smile
