    Here's an interesting story:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7130014.stm

Scientists have found fossils that suggest that some large animals were caught up in the results of an Earth impact.

Although this is an "Astronomy Picture of The Day" it's also interesting in the sense that this photo looks different depending on how you think about it!!

    http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap080113.html

It's a photo from the International Space Station of Hurricane Ivan (2004). Impressive enough.

But now try to see the solar panels as outlines of skyscrapers and you're looking up from street level past the buildings and into the sky.

I'd love to see something like that for real.....from a safe distance of course.

I doubt people in the immediate vicinity would agree.

More of a shocked moment more than anything else. But it makes me glad to live in the UK where this sort of thing doesn't happen too often!!

The first 20-25 seconds are what I'm highlighting:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7393030.stm

This footage really brings home how powerful tornadoes are.

I think that they may just be the sky reflected in water droplets that are on the lens? Sorry!
