The official site for The Uninvited has some interesting music -- almost like Young's personal spin on Zimmer's Ring score with some Grudge-esque dissonance thrown in.

Dom -- can you confirm that's Young's score used on the webstie?

I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose the other day. Terrible film - but what music!

I didn't mind the movie... and the exorcism scene was quite effective... but you can give a lot of credit to Young for that.

Much though it's a slightly ridiculous premise, I did think there was enough material there to have made a pretty good film, it just didn't fall into place the right way for me. I do like Tom Wilkinson - an actor I could watch all night,

The score is a lesson in horror music writing. Very effective.

I really liked the film, plausible and acted very strongly (from Carpenter at least), extremily chilling and a good score as well, shows Young's excellent at this

Southall! Did you get a copy of Invaders from Mars finally? If not then check ebay #150321927315. There's one going for less than the original price.

Thanks BP - I'll check that out.

Does anyone who's heard Invaders From Mars have any opinions on it? Consider the frenzy when it came (and went), there's been barely a mention of the music itself!

Afraid I only have the short 10 minute suite on the Cinema Septet album, it never impressed me.

Oh. Here's my hopes getting killed. kill

I haven't realized before that it was actually a mainstream remake of the brilliant original Korean feature, THE TALE OF TWO SISTERS, otherwise i'd have assumed it was actually going to be CRAP. Then people tells you grumpy and biased when you pre-judge remakes of asian horror movies as CRAP, even before you see them.

    Damn.

Really looking forward to the score though, no matter the film.

Oh well... Young has done so much better in the past. This is rather generic for Young. Good generic but we've heard most of it before in far superior scores.

I think it's good, but there's no denying that it IS nothing we haven't heard before from him. I think he's (far) better at that sort of thing than anyone else right now, so I'm perfectly happy with it, but it doesn't reach the heights of his best scores in the genre (and of his recent scores I would award The Exorcism of Emily Rose that pinnacle).
