  1. "Look at Us Now, Mother!" (2015, documentary)

I already knew what the site said, but I'll repeat it: he's orchestrated for people like Randy Newman, MArk Snow, and the late Michael Kamen.

  2. Thanks to an FSM user:

In recent interview for SoundWorks Marco Beltrami confirmed he will score upcoming action thriller HITMAN: AGENT 47. Based on the top-selling, award-winning video game franchise, "Agent 47" is an all-new motion picture about an elite and genetically engineered assassin, known only by the last two digits - 47 - of a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. His latest target is a young woman on the run from powerful and clandestine forces. The mission brings startling revelations about the lethal agent and his prey, hurtling them on a collision course with their pasts. And this time, his number may be up. Rupert Friend, Zachary Quinto, Ciarán Hinds and Thomas Kretschmann star in the movie directed by Aleksander Bach for 20th Century Fox. HITMAN: AGENT 47 is currently in post-production and will be released on 28th August 2015.

  5. "Peanuts"
    Christophe Beck
Souce: a site devoted to the comic strip posted this back in June:

At Beaglefest XIII - the convention of the Peanuts Collector Club held in June 2014 - it was revealed that Christophe Beck will be writing the soundtrack music for the movie. Christophe Beck has a long resume of composer credits, including recently the scores (but not songs) for Frozen, Muppets Most Wanted, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. It's expected that some Guaraldi themes will be used together with original compositions.

Robert Downey sr. was actually a great 'arthouse' director.
    I am extremely serious.

  9. Thanks to a couple of FSM users: apparently there was a press conference today about the next Bond film, and director Sam Mendes confirmed Thomas Newman is back.

  10. Not surprising, but disappointing nevertheless.
  11. Pleased to hear that.
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.
  12. I'm pleased as well, I think that the score is quite underrated.

  13. Underrated?! Everyone and their mother loves it! It's the only Bond score to have ever been nominated for an Oscar, for reasons that completely escape me (oh wait, it's because it's Newman, who may not have won anything, but is certainly a darling of the Academy).

Pretty much the only people I know who aren't completely enamored with it are myself, Timmer, Jon Broxton, Clemmensen and a handful of other folks over on Filmtracks. You wanna talk about underrated Bond scores? The World is Not Enough.

The song was the best thing about that score.

Nope! Marvin Hamlisch got nominated for both score and song for THE SPY WHO LOVED ME ( 1977 )

The title song FOR YOUR EYES ONLY had an Academy award nomination for best song.

To date, no James Bond score composer has won an Oscar for Bond music or song.

Strange people. It's a great score.

I am disappointed Arnold isn't coming back, but at the same time I'm happy Newman is.

It's bland, anonymous, and would be utterly loathed if it was written by anyone from Remote Control.

    IMO.

Not at all. If it was written by RC my whole life philosophy would probably change.

I literally have no idea what you hear in the score that isn't in almost every post-Bourne RC action score. I guess I'm just not advanced enough of a listener to hear the wonders.

I'll be kinder and say it does have moments but other than that I agree with you. John Barry blue printed the Bond scores but that doesn't mean composers have to pastiche him ( which I do think Arnold did at times, and not unwelcome by me admittedly ), Newman's score is interchangeable with any modern thriller score, John Powell Bourne-lite.

Yeah, Bourne without the riveting melodic elements, if there had just been a theme I would go back to Newman's score repeatedly, but it's so anonymous and just floats by without leaving an impact. I tried to like it, I swear, Newman has written some of my favorite pieces of all time so it's not like I'm judging it because he's too "old fashioned" or some such nonsense.

  15. Meh. Mendes was not even going to do a Bond film without Newman at first, so of course they reunite again. I think we're all the better for it.

Absolutely. Skyfall is the best Bond score by someone other than John Barry.

  17. Oh, oh, oh ... as much as I like Newman's Skyfall, Arnold has crafted some very fine music for BOND. Casino Royal being my favourite Arnold BOND score, I don't think I would place Skyfall before CR.
