    I'm staying in tonight, since I've almost had no sleep tonight. Yesterday a friend and I decided to take the rucksack and tent, choose a random location in Belgium to spend the night there. After driving 3 hours with the train we arrived at the other side of Belgium, around 10PM. Dark and cold, we had to call a camp place owner (since wild camping is not allowed in our country). He picked us up and on arrival we had a local beer before putting up our tent. We brought us a bottle of liquor and had fun while talking and refilling the glasses, laying on our back watching the stars (would've been romantic if it had been a lady .. damn) on a camping place in the middle of nowhere.

    It was a terrible cold night, nearing zero degrees. I didn't have the best material with me so I haven't slept much. We were a bit mislead by the very good weather the past days, forgetting the cold nights.

    Anyhow, today we hiked several kms through intense sun and a beautiful landscape in Limburg, with lots of little ponds and hills. We hiked back around 3PM this afternoon, and hitchhiked in the meantime to get the train on time. Somebody picked us up and did drive the last 6km for us, just to arrive on time and hear the train was cancelled. dizzy We spend another hour laying a bit in the sun, enjoying the weather with music and a book. Just got home, I'm completely sunburned in neck and arms but did enjoy a bath and some music.

    Hung over from yesterday, so today has been a day on the sofa.

    Tomorrow is Norway's national day, and the streets will be filled with celebration. Guess I have to prepare mentally for that.

    In fact it turned into a lot of beers, so much so that I've cancelled going out tonight to play in the pool contest.

    I lost track of time and count of beers, some friends unexpectedly called around last night, lots of drinking and talking then we realised it had gone past 11 PM so we headed for the pub where we stayed until almost 2 AM.

    I don't feel bad, just lethargic ( and the hot sticky weather is also to blame for that ) and a bit washed out.

    Tonight is the Eurovision Song Contest finale, and while I really couldn't care less, it's hosted here in Oslo, and I almost feel obliged to watch it, since my tax money has helped finance the damn thing. If things work out as planned, I'm heading over to a friend's house to watch it on/off. I'm more interested in the beer/wine drinking, though. smile

    Anyone else plan to watch it?

    It's one of the great toe-curling events of the year, rigged voting, cheesy performers, crappy songs....so Yeah! I will watch it ( half heartedly )

    Not a chance.
    In fact, with all the cutbacks we need to make, cancelling this feeble and horridly outmoded effort at entertainment (and currently rather Eastern European centered wankfest) completely should make for some good cost savings.

    I'm refering to myself actually! I was alone home last night and felt lonely and then I remembered a greek song which can be roughly translated into : "I see you in my glass and as I drink I drink you" and there was a bottle of wine laying around and you can guess what happened next as you can guess who I was seeing in the glass. So I can understand the headache! rolleyes dizzy

    Not so much headache, but lots of queasiness and feeling miserable in general today. It was pretty rough yesterday, a good ol' 12-hour party stint... dizzy
