Well, that's up to Justin, but if everybody (more or less) behaves (within the boundaries of accepted forms of irony and parody) I see no reason why this thread couldn't just continue?

Because they've all turned to mush. sad (Considering we're on the south coast, we didn't get nearly as much snow as the rest ya'll.)

I thought things are getting out of hand and are starting to remember me other certain online places. If it doesn't bother you and you want to continue having slight bits of constructive criticism amidst name calling and attacks, i have no objection.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Bristol being in the Gulf stream usually means we miss out on snow altogether even though near by Gloucester and South Wales get covered. The Eastern winds are giving us a good blanketing at the moment.

and I'm only on here talking because i'm stalling on going out into the freezing cold.....but i'll have to sooner or later cos i need food slant

As long as observers and participants realise there's only really one person doing the 'attacking', then I think we'll all live happy and prosperous lives. wink (Though I am guilty of baiting. The temptation was far too great. shame )
  3. Yes, as far as diagnosing people with mental disorders. I am very sorry, but I could point out certain issues with the attacker too... But I'm not gonna do it.

I HAD A GO AT THIS COMPOSING MALARKEY!

And this is what I came up with.

    I'm already better than:

Sean Callery - I have better samples than him.
Hans Zimmer - I use woodwinds.
Thomas Newman - My track is longer than 30 seconds.
James Horner - I didn't use the danger motif.

    Ignorance is bliss. angelic

    (Srsly, give me your opinions!)

Hey, that's quite good. Has this kind of chug-along rhythmic flair. The only thing I missed was a more melodic presence, or at least some kind of thematic, musical evolution.
    I am extremely serious.

I'll have a go next time. Writing melody is so hard when you start out. sad

Edit: But I can't imagine it gets much easier later on anyway!

I'm siding with Thor: arguably no worse (or better) than most film score "soundscapes". A theme or melody would help this along immensely.

I like your samples and the combination of instruments.
It's quite clear you have listened to your share of ex-MVs! (Not a bad thing, mind: there's people making good money using that particular style, and it's interesting to see it's relatively (!) easily being emulated). cool

Most importantly you're better than Justin biggrin

Work a bit on the melodic side. The orchestrations are very good already (I LOVE the harp!). You've got talent.

Haha! I thought exactly the same thing when I was writing it. Out of all the samples I could get a hold of the low strings always sounded the best. biggrin
