Not a photo but a video.
Following on from the hummingbird video I linked to on Tim's quiz question topic, I hunted for - and found - a link to a spectacular sequence taken from the recent BBC natural history programme, Secrets of Our Living Planet.
Watching those hummingbirds flit about is fantastic.

I saw Sloths in a tree in Bolivia, watched them for about ten minutes and none of them moved a muscle. Mel finds them very creepy. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Alan, a collective noun for Ravens is 'an unkindness'. I think you were thinking of Crows? On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Checking through other collective nouns for birds, I had to smile at the thought of a herd of wrens! Though I have only ever seen them singly. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I had to pop into the pub briefly yesterday regarding the quiz I'm doing and ended up handling a Robin that had flown indoors and was distressed flapping at the window, the two bar girls said they liked birds but couldn't touch them and asked me if I could help, I let it free and got given a free pint as thanks. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Good news for the robin and yourself!
Robins seem to be particularly friendly and trusting. We have one that regularly visits the garden and when I was trimming back the ivy yesterday it was flitting about and seemed really inquisitive on what I was doing. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

I always liked the phrase 'a parliament of rooks', but alas, it seems to have been an invention by Neil Gaiman.

I took this pic from my window a few minutes ago. Is this what we call random, everyday poetry?

Wow Thor, I saw it on facebook, but I thought it was fake, like a funny 'viral' photo!!
Looking at it again I now see which way the tracks go and that it is real -

I always want to see scale with these kind of photos... I can imagine a little dot climbing the rock as well as a person sitting down to rest on that same rock... -

It's near impossible to judge any kind of scale with such epic scope, even if you put a hundred storied building at the foot of the mountain the actual peak is still a few miles distant.

Bregje, zoom in as far as it goes to the peak of the mountain, get it so that it's in the centre of your screen, from there if you use the down arrow it takes you right to the tents, it's COLOSSALOn Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Huh?? Why didn't I see this before? I can even see coloured dots now zoomed out. It is a village.
I really didn't see it, I was looking at different tents, far more on the right of the photo.
Love the Tibetan prayer flags all over the place!!
By the way, I took about five minutes to scroll down from the top... there's so much to see zoomed in.
