You should come to Norway. It's been -10 degrees Celsius here today. I almost froze my balls off just cycling to the dentist and back.
    I am extremely serious.

Luckily you were not going to the doctor's to get "the snip". Now that would have been a wasted journey!

See, the difference between your place and my place, here is moderate climate, but there continuous chill weather. I think you can withstand to that because you have well equipped to that, but here its not like that, there will be sudden rainfall or hot sun or very chill. We have to adapt ourselves very quickly to fast changing climate over here.

Have had horrible toothache for the last couple of days. Went to the dentist today and need to go for root canal. My only experience of root canal is that CJ had it on The West Wing and didn't enjoy it very much. It doesn't sound very pleasant.

Had it this morning. Not as horrible as I'd feared, though I wouldn't want it every day. Let's see how I feel when the anaesthetic wears off...

In recent years dentistry has made great strides. My first root canal in the late 70's was horrific. I was in bed for two days and as an example there would have been no way I could have worked or sat in front of a computer.

Had a sleepless night due to the turning on of the heat. Even though there is a new filter in place the smell made it difficult to breathe and I was coughing. I was advised after the fact of course that I should have been running the fan only to clear out any moisture buildup from using the air conditioning unit this summer.

The smoke ban has been delayed until July 2014 here. angry

    AGAIN

This is the third time they do this. God damned. Always the same argument "It will be the end of so many cafés and bars". The argument "it will kill 10.000 people" is obviously not important.

We are the only western government in Western Europe that is so decision-less on this matter. Never makes up his mind or is never clear, so they make agreements for everyone, that just fail to help the people, but only make the blame for each party less bad.

    Sigh.

Has it really been going that bad in the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany, ...? I always here positive news that after a few months everything seems to work out, and even attracts more people to bars and pubs. SO I dont know why that argument never counts in the discussion here.

I still can't see why anyone wants to go to a bar to smoke alone? Why is it such a strong voice.

Not publics, but there's a hole in the law which allows an owner of a pub / bar / restaurant / cafe / club - whatever, to pay a bit more to the government and issue an ALL-SMOKING allowed license for their place. Everyone did it 'cause Greeks are sadly awfully maniac smokers in their largest percentage, so wherever you go there's still smokers like before, only a bit more because they're not allowed to smoke in some government buildings and such so they crowd - up in bars and cafes to smoke the shit and blow their smokes in our faces.

It's good that you're having it checked regularly so that any increased risks can be dealt with promptly.

    It certainly is!

2-3 months ago I began along that long journey. I've alway seem to have borderline high blood pressure (my mum has been bothered by high blood pressure ever since I was born) and I was put on tablets.

It was then that I decided to lose a bit of weight and watch what I ate. To date I've lost 9 kg - which is good for me, but I still have a long way to go before I get down to my target weight.

And Christmas is coming up soon. sad

Same in Norway. We've had the smoking ban in two years, and it's being upheld everywhere. I love it. I can actually use the same sweater the next day, as it is no longer "soaked" in smoke smell.
