My best friend, who was gone for a RTW, will leave on October for six months to Kenya.
Great for him of course, and I wholehaertly agree he should do this intership at the Belgian Embassy and UN. But things will be less varied again, he was the one who pushed us to do other things.
Anyhow, perhaps that's a reason to join him for a week or two?
Yes! Where abouts in Kenya? -

Traditionally I think they spend that time with their families. -

Ah....Kenya. One of my top 5 destinations that I haven't been to yet (and Southall's safari pictures don't actually make my desire any less powerful).
But why are we talking about it in the "what's annoying you currently?" thread?I am extremely serious. -

What is bothering me is this.
#1....Erik and I had a conversation about promoting my website and his suggestion was to post a thread everytime I completed a review which I did for every site. This was the only site that objected and I was told not to do it. I continue to post on Movie Music, Movie Music UK, FSM, Intrada, etc. and no one objects.
#2....Bregt agreed that I could have my own thread and he would make it a sticky with the idea being that if there was a recent post people would see it. Keep in mind that some of my material isn't put up in the review section of maintitles. Now this has changed.
#3....It's like use a fork no use a spoon no use a fork and a spoon. Make up your mind. I'll put up the reviews that I think you might find interesting. Otherwise I encourage you to go to http://sdtom.wordpress.com/.

I don't think I understand, Tom? There is still the same thread you had before - why not just update it when you have a new review to announce? As far as I know, nobody's ever asked you not to? -
- CommentTimeSep 26th 2009 edited
Do you really care about it that much, Tom? Seems odd to get your panties in a twist over something so small. Also, you can't force people to read your blog, but you're more than welcome to keep the forum updated about it - which is exactly what you're still allowed and encouraged to do. No one is stopping you, so I think you've completely misjudged it. -
- CommentTimeSep 26th 2009
Steven, your right. I really don't care anymore.

Tom, can you explain what the problem is? Who is stopping you from updating your thread? I just don't get it. -

If you read again what I said you'll understand. It is a point of principal as to what Bregt said he would do. I'll just post the reviews on the site that I think the readership might have an interest in. Steven is correct in I really don't care.listen to more classical music! -

I still fail to see the problem, Tom. Bregt previously said you could have it stickied, however as we all know there have been many in favour of the recent cull in them and as a result this has changed. Not just for your thread, but for many of the stickies the forum had.
If your reviews are being posted in the review section then they will appear on the recent updates list. Again, this is not just something that applies to you , but also any reviews Thomas writes, ones I may write on occasion and anyone else who contributes.
Finally, your thread has only be unstickied. You can still continue to post in it, and it will always bump up to the top of the forum when there are any new comments. I update my Michael Giacchino site frequently, and I simply post in the relevant thread if I think it is necessary to "promote" any new changes or additions.
Please explain why you believe you should be exempt from these procedures and we can consider changing it. So far you've said because it's a matter of principle, but I fail to see how this is fair on any other contributors. -

Sorry, I still don't get it. Why can't you just update the thread in the same way you always have? What's stopping you? When you update it, it will appear at the top of the forum, just like any other thread that gets updated. Clearly I'm missing something. -

I'd suggest that we just accept that there are differences of opinion that aren't very clear and move on.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Why is it you can never get a straight answer out of women?
If they don't want to go out at some point, they should just say "no". If they do, they should just say "yes".
They shouldn't respond with "I'll text you" or something along those lines. It doesn't help the situation, and I'd rather be told there and then if it's a negative!
I'm not fussed about being "let down lightly" or whatever and a straight answer at least saves a lot of time and effort.
*rant over*
Anyway, how has everyones day been? -

It looks like here in the UK there's going to be a national postal strike - and I have a couple of packages "pending" from SAE that look like they are going to get caught up in the disruption.

Nothing's definite yet.
The postal workers were balloted and they voted to strike. But the unions are waiting to set a definite date for the industrial action to begin. And then they have to give 7 days notice before the strike begins.
There may be a chance that they pull back from acting because from what I've heard there's not too much initial public (or business) support. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -
