No. We have a train station. Only 40 minutes from Brussels. Only 3 hours from Amsterdam (where YOU live

'scuse me, since when is the metro the best way of transportation? Traveling underground should be left to worms, moles and people who don't care for scenery, traveling through a city without a notable scenery (Amsterdam).
And does Ghent have one? Didn't think so.

Is there btw, a link which has a compact and informative article on what the hell is actually going on politically where Bregt lives? Or can summarize it in a paragraph? I read some articles in news media but were enormous and complex, never quite had the time to sit down and bother with it; most of those articles seems like addressing people already familiar with the subject.Love Maintitles. Do you mean the recent, current political situation, or the way it's already been for years - the divide between French and Dutch (well, some version of it, at least) speaking regions? Because the following article explains the gist of that conflict pretty understandable:
In Belgium, the situation is quite complex:
The country is divided between the Dutch-speaking region, Flanders, the French-speaking region, Wallonia, and the region of Brussels, the capital which is a bilingual territory. In Belgium, about 6.5 million people speak Dutch while 3.5 million speak French. In the 1980s, the country decided to adopt a federal system and since then powers and competences over areas such as trade, culture and housing have been handed to the regional authorities.
[...]
One crucial point of the conflict is the question of the rights granted to the substantial French-speaking minority living in areas around Brussels which are located in a Dutch-speaking territory. Dutch-speaking political parties want to cancel the bilingual vote in those areas and to prevent French-speaking parties from running for the elections in those Dutch-speaking suburbs around Brussels. On the counterpart, French-speaking parties are asking reinforcement of their language rights in Dutch-speaking areas such as the right to use French when dealing with their respective municipalities (which has always been rejected by the Dutch authority).

The rest is a little outdated, having new developments since of course (written in 2008), but it gives a fairly good idea (though I don't know how understandable this is for someone used to a Greek political system). I'm sure Bregt can give you an update on how it is right now
(though nothing seems to change regarding the Dutch/French conflict).

Ok, pretty understandable. So what are the new developments in this and why is the subject hot again?Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Well, it's mainly become a hot topic again because of the federal elections on June 13th: a nationalistic party won in the Dutch speaking region, a socialistic party in the French speaking region. The elections were held because of a fall of the government, after the liberal party stepped out of it. This is following a long political crisis in 2007 and 2008, of which the whole Dutch/French dispute forms an important part. This article explains more about these elections: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian_ge … tion,_2010 -

Pretty much was BobdHarley said.
It's not as bad as it seems. We've had these political problems before, and managed to get out of it by giving more responsibilities to these regions. Then we were able to live together for about 10 years, and then another round of reorganisation was done. Last time it was around 2000, so it's time for a new one.

I just bought a travel guide (how touristy!) for Andalusia, to have an idea what to do and visit. People with tips and tricks (Martijn already advised to rent a car for example) for Sevilla, Cordoba and Ubeda region, shoot!
Is there a good book about the region's history?Kazoo -

You pick up all the stuff (tickets for the concerts, credential, etc)* once there. As usual, at the Hospital de Santiago (festival headquarters).

Better to eliminate the DVD than the special hotel rates though.

No, as far as I know, the lineup is totally closed. The last guests were north american Jamie Christopherson and spaniard Zacarías M. de la Riva.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -
