I've not heard Slumdog Millionaire, but I'm 99.99[ad infinatum]% certain it's not the best score of the Naughties.

It's not. But it's a darn fine album.

My personal vote for # 1 would be Howard Shore's monumental efforts on all three THE LORD OF THE RINGS by far.

I've just been putting the finishing touches to my own list. It doesn't coincide with the Empire one very much. (None of my top three is there - unsurprisingly.)

I'll have to have a good think and try and decide what I would choose as a top 10, SIGNS may well make that top 10? What a shame, at least for me that I have no John Barry to choose from, his only score this decade was ENIGMA which was below average for him.

Off the top of my head and in no particular order except #1 ( plus I haven't really had a very good think about everything that was released )

The Lord of The Rings ( all three scores ) - Shore

    Road To Perdition - Newman

    A Beautiful Mind - Horner

    Atonement - Marianelli

    Bourne Supremacy - Powell

War of The Worlds - Williams

    Troy - Yared

    Inside Man - Blanchard

    Possession - Yared

    Signs - Howard

Nice list, Tim! And it's not often that one sees fans for that Yared score. punk
But the main theme that appears a number of times in the score is heavily influenced by Chopin. It has also been used by Sarde in Dis-Moi Oui....
