  1. NP: Batalla Sexual - Angel Illarramendi (La Lengua de las Mariposas rejected score)

Very quirky. I love how symphonic sounds and it's funny that Illarramendi said that he wanted to musically represent the sex like a battle
  2. Hans Zimmer - Broken Arrow

Preparing myself for the new release. Very good score, one of my favorite Zimmer action scores.

Absolutely! I thrashed the LP back in 1983. Well, until Krull came out later that year!

    NP: DINOSAUR (James Newton Howard)

Some cool Zimmerisms here and there, a great exotic adventure score. "The Egg Travels" rules!
    I am extremely serious.

COSI' COME SEI | ennio morricone

    Lovely score. love

The beautiful theme is quite hummable after a while, it has a really nice atmosphere. The Disco track is rather hilarious, because it is so odd to be included. biggrin

An absolutely fantastic score. The funeral track is one of my alltime favourite tracks, as well as a brilliant example of the religious sound.

Indeed, wonderful album. No dissonance at all, just wonderful themes and two really funny and cheesy pieces.

Now that I looked at Thor's thread I definitely understand. I wish the rest of Vaughan Williams work was more like that piece and less of random blasts of various sections of the orchestra (at least that's how it sounds to me because I haven't yet comprehended the underlying fabric of his music).

This isn't Spielberg's choice. Jon Favreau is the director.

THE BEST OF DRAGON QUEST - KOICHI SUGIYAMA

So I made this compilation out of all the most wonderful music from the DRAGON QUEST ORCHESTRAL ALBUMS, 16 wonderful cues in all. This compilation ranks among my favourite albums in my collection... This has all the elements of a great symphonic work: incredibly romantic, thematic and melodic, exciting orchestrations, bold and epic sound, always memorable. Performances by the LONDON PHILHARMONIC are mesmerizing and absolutely fantastic!!

And to say these complex orchestrated pieces originated from simplistic sounding midi-tunes. shocked

A shame this man and his music aren't well known outside of Japan, but trust me, he deserves to be.

If you don't believe me, listen to this MINDBLOWING ACTION CUE. punk

    Basic Instinct - Jerry Goldsmith

Listening to the original 45 minute version of the score, and you know, I think I prefer the expanded version just for the sense of added mystery in the extra cues. Plus, I think you have to listen to this score at night for it to have its full effect (not in the broad daylight).

My favorite one would be the final track, the chorus sounds wonderful and Illarramendi uses the violin theme for the Borgia and the emotional theme, performed by the chorus.
