But why mate? In essence, it's not away from what LOST was all that time. You know what i believe your problem with the show is ? (And if it is that, i can wholly understand that many people will share the same sentiments)...not the nature of the show itself as it's newly taken, but the nature of the answers. You'd expect something perhaps more intellectual or realistic from the writers of LOST? That's what bothers you, i believe, the very answers that are given for a great mystery we've been building for 4 years now in our heads; perhaps some people, or even you, would expect something bigger and darker behind all this. 'Cause otherwise i can't really see what's changed with LOST, besides the newly faster pace.

The answers are fine; it's just a lack of getting the right ones. The characters have gone through all this hassle of getting back to the island, they've now done it, but we still don't know WHY they had to go back. That would be the most obvious thing to ask if somebody told you to go back.

I enjoyed that they simply got back via airplane. I thought it was going to go all Dr. Who on us again where they teleport through time back to the island or something equally stupid.

And the stupid time jumps on the island! It allowed the writers to do practically anything, and everything on the island has felt rushed and very, very sloppy. Aside from that, we've had a massive lack of island (that I'm hoping will improve now). People simply walking throguh a jungle, only bound for places we already know is not interesting!

Ugh, they're back anyway. Hopefully this means no more freakin' LA stuff. You can't be Lost in a city! wink

Shut up Hawking and explain why!! If I was Desmond, I'd have pulled a Sawyer and slapped her.

Well Hawking is the new Ben I´m afraid. Dropping a bit of information here, a bit there, but never telling everything we´d like (not that the characters ask for more though rolleyes ).

By the way, does the fact that Desmond does not go back to the island means that we will see less of him the rest of the season? That would suck!

I agree with Anthony. This episode may have been one of the silliest.

Like he recreation of the flight (the shoes, the seat position, the pilot, ...) Holy crap, I thought the same when Jack was putting on the shoes to Locke "you must be laughing" (or something like that).

I can't see why this is good writing. Like Anthony said, th time flashes were misused, and they alway came just on the right time, the right place, ... There's TOO much "it is this way, it is our destiny, it is like this because otherwise we can't explain).

    Sigh.

I hope it gets better now, since they're on the island again.

They're back, so what more could possibly go wrong? rolleyes

And considering they did get back only 5 episodes in, I'm hoping it's because the writers realised setting it in LA was a mistake.

Well, relax; they are back and we will learn why. Patience, like everything in LOST. Plus, it means more island again so what's the problem? I think that the slop of the initial period of season 5 was just at the beginning and now we're back at the good stuff. Hopefully, the admittedly stupid time shift flashes will cease as wel..

I like the LA thing. It was necessary for the conspiration and Widmore plot!!! and probably to understand why they are not supposed to leave the island. Can you see that? it was part of the argument you had to do.

This is no 24, this is not Dexter. This is a show when you only will know if it is wrong or good with a complete vision of all the series when it will be finished.

I recomend you to read the podcasts (or listen the podcasts).About what creators says about giving answers.

You are getting a lot of answers, but they are not giving them like " this is why...". They are more subtile and you have to know, all the misteries of Lost can be explained in 5 minutes. do you want this? really?

Are you so looking for answers that you can't enjoy the show. Just relax, and enjoy the "journey". You are in good hands. And Only reamains a few episodes! enjoy it!

How I said, it's a pretty clever and smart show, almost all the things fits like a puzzle. they did a pretty impressive job, even if you don't like the direction they were taken, but it's the direction they know 5 years ago they have to take ( dizzy )

    SPOILER

About the last episode, i enjoy it very much. The first 6 minutes they give to us answers. The rest they come back to the old lost, and focus in the characters.

the only thing i don't like is how they come to the island, I mean...If you want to come back you have to crash another plane? or they was teletransported and the plane is intact?.

Exactly. I hope they do address this. It would be pretty selfish for them to crash a plane with a load of innocent people on, and it would be incredibly stupid if they telephoned off the plane somehow...

Bets that strange "my condolences" guy returns, and possibly the air marshal with Sayid.

I don't think they crashed the plane. How would they do that? The last time they crashed it was due to Desmond's fuck up with entering the numbers and pushing the button. This time they were extracted from the plane 'cause they were in the radius of the time shift flashes.

Well....I could think the same, but do you remember the raft with a bottle of Ajira airways in 2 episodes before? ?? it seems there are new losties in town. (or maybe they was our friends in the future? ).

I hope the plane didn't crash, because It could bee pretty stupid (yes, this time could be really stupid). If everytime a plane trought to one of those windows crash, the island could be full of Losties....Smokey could has a lot of work to do tongue

(By the way, the ratings Jumped a little bit : 11 milions from 9 from the last week)

Indeed but why will it crash? The first time was attributed to the gathering of excessive magnetic powers because Desmond was out to kill the big, bearded Dharma man and forgot to push the button, how will the writers justify this new plane crash?

well, 815 crashed in the island because Desmond. I don't think 815 pass trhought a window. Ajira 316 did.

Probably Lapidus will be in the island because he was supposed to be the pilot in 815, and probably the arabic guy is some spy infiltrated by Widmore or The Economist and he will be in the island too.

But I don't hope everytime a plane pass trought a window it crash in the island. It could be a pretty stupid thing I'm more worried about this, than about time travels or other SCI FIC things.

Anyway, Im sure writters are reading the comments and thoughts. wink

I saw the canadiense Promo for the next episode, and it seems my fears are becoming true: the 316 crashed in the island.

John Locke dressed with the suite, introduce himself to the girld who was with sayid in the ajira plane. dammed!

I don't care if the air marshal and that other mysterious guy end up there - we NEED more characters. As long as all the people in the back of the plane aren't there.

Remember: The show is COMPLETELY out of redshirts. (There might be a couple still with Rose and Bernard though...wherever they are.)

Well, it depends on how they'll justify this but the whole thing screams Bermuda Triangle all over, i never thought something like LOST would do so.

Seems 5x07 can be a great episode. If the title of the episode wasn´t appealing enough ("The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham") we´ll have some of the more interesting recurring roles in action:

Lance Reddick (Matthew Abaddon) :scared: :very scared:
    John Terry (Christian Shephard)
    Alan Dale (Charles Widmore)
    Malcolm David Kelley (Walt Lloyd)

And, according to tv.com, the episode will last 6 additional minutes.

I don´t think so, I think Jacob uses Christian (as he will use Locke IMO), but that´s one of my top 5 Lost questions.
