NP: Game of Thrones (Ramin?)
Not a phenomenal score. Despite the obvious care put into some things (the persian instrumentation, the faux medieval stuff), the main material ends up sounding really cheap and 'wannabe epic film music'.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

NP: GREAT COMPOSERS (Georges Delerue)
The great 2CD Varese compilation. Sometimes, I like to play this instead of the massive 6CD set I also have.I am extremely serious. -

Twilight Zone: The Movie - Jerry Goldsmith
The string and percussion writing in the 'Time Out' and 'Nightmare at 20,000 ft' segments are just brilliant. Could listen to these all day - and have done just that in the past! Then there's the glorious theme for 'Kick the Can' just to cement this score's greatness if it needed it. -

I love the songs, and especially Oh My Love (not because how it was used in the film). Perhaps a bit corny, but there's a great Italian tune in there.Kazoo -

Loved how they used the songs in the film, the last one really fits like a glove.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

I didn't really have an issue with the songs. Can't say I like the film, but nothing to do with its music.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

NP: Puss In Boots - Henry Jackman
Despite being heavily inspired by John Powell's scoring style, the score is hugely entertaining in and out of the movie. The melody and catchy thematic material get a bit of a workout and retain the high energy and big sense of fun throughout the album/movie. -

NP: VARESE 30TH ANNIVERSARY (various)
Superb 4CD set containing 90% stuff I hadn't heard before (mostly because I'm not as strong on 2000s scores as I am on 90's and before).I am extremely serious. -

Enjoyable, this. Long way from his usual, but there are great tunes. -

The Crimebuster theme is fun, though. And at least it's eons better than the film itself. It's still an X-FILES mystery how superstar Williams ever got to score this turkey.I am extremely serious. -

I think it's an innocent, outside-of-the-box-score for Williams... and like Thor said the Crimebuster theme is extraordinary! I love it!

Recently I wasn't in a mood for listening film scores, except playing shuffle of favorite tracks in the background...
But today somehow it's back
So what I listened today:
Thin Red Line - Hans Zimmer
Shawshank Redemption - Thomas Newman
The Holiday - Hans Zimmer
and NP: Freedom: Piano Stories 4 - Joe Hisaishi
Hopefully I can post in this forum a bit more often againLabels are for cans, not people. - Anthony Rapp -

NP : THE LAST VALLEY - John Barry
This is the original score, it's been some time since I've played this ( due to Silva's complete re-recording ) which is a shame as Barry's original is unbeatable. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Random Goldsmith Cues Manually Picked By Me in iTunes Because I Want To Jerry Goldsmith

No, I know what I want. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

You mean randomly selecting cues, adding them to a playlist and let it play... OR select Jerry Goldsmith and shuffle only his music in iTunes?

Neither. I mean going through just Goldsmith scores and manually playing random tracks. No playlists, no shuffling. -

Why....why would you want to do that?
Unless you're incredibly drunk? (at which point incredibly odd things often make a lot of deep, spiritual sense)'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Because I tend not to make compilation playlists. But I do sometimes feel like listening to random tracks (usually composer specific). Though I usually end up settling on a specific score. Shut up, you're weird. -
