  1. Glad about Masquerade Night, was pleasantly surprised by that too (but I love Sato's work), and Gordon's Buckley's Chance was also a nice listen.
    waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh
  2. I feel like I am the only person in the world who is annoyed by how incredibly repetitive Buckley's Chance is. Once you've heard the opening cue you have heard everything the score has to offer.

Not true at all. "Riddles" offers a nice summation of the score much like an end credit suite but there is so much more in the score than the 11 minutes of greatness in "Riddles" But if it doesn't click with you so be it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you did put it in your top 10 yes? So what are you babbling about tongue wink

I agree several tracks or ideas return, but it's Gordon and I missed his voice. But I wouln't have placed it in my top 10 of all scores, that's a fact

The core material is good but I feel like there are a lot of cues that simply repeat sections of "Riddles" rather than significantly developing anything. The last cue for instance is identical to the last two minutes of "Riddles". Every action cue seemed to be built from the same ostinato. And in between there's a lot of that sort of stark rattly outback music which doesn't do much for me. Hell, even within "Riddles" the opening and closing statements of that main theme are incredibly similar.

Just feels like butter scraped over too much bread.

  5. It's a shame that so little of the music is available despite, I would imagine, that it would be relatively easy for composers to release the music in some form.

It is. It's the weirdness of Norwegian composers, really. It's a mystery to me. It's like they're all content with "living in the shadows" and not get their work out there, outside the movies. If I had been a film composer, I would have released soundtracks of my work ALL THE TIME, regardless of format or what it sounds like!

Some very interesting discoveries Thor! I'm not sure our tastes are entirely aligned, since so many of yours are more electronic heavy which I often enjoy and appreciate, but wouldn't say I'm an avid listener of that style. But I particularly enjoyed the piece by Kate Simko. I had not heard of her before - she writes some really cool stuff! Thanks for the introduction, and on your list we share a favorite in The Last Duel! smile
