    Sometimes it helps.

Guardians of the Galaxy Tyler Brian

I may be one of its very few fans on this forum?
  1. I'm a big fan of the score. I said so when it was released and was frowned at by the vast majority of the good people here. But that didn't bother me. smile
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.

I hope they revisit the theme in the next film, it's a decent little theme. Solid score.

There was a theme? It did not stand out. I have heard the score at least 5 times.

Well, it's the best track by Tyler. (Almost any Tyler - with the obvious exception of Bonnie.)

I'm currently suffering from the screwdriver effect (as previously mentioned by my esteemed colleague Mr. van Hasselt). Notice, in opposition to my slightly less esteemed colleague Mr. Haga, how I am able to avoid typos. Let this be a lesson to all.

    Cinderella - Patrick Doyle

Well, nobody could accuse Doyle of exercising undue restraint.

It's not particularly interesting. It's airy, light and fluffy, i.e., not very substantial.

It felt to me like a succession of grand finales. The lack of dramatic architecture to the album (i.e. - there's no real musical storytelling) was a big problem for me. Having been billed by some who heard it early as the best thing he'd ever written, I was sorely disappointed. Some nice things in it, but it's far from that.
  4. I felt that all the waltzes and polkas in the middle brought any flow of the album to a stop: it felt a bit of an interval, with things starting off again after these were done.

Much as I love that track it is this track that really does it for me, I know it's his "old box of tricks" action track style but it seriously presses my buttons. Corking track!

also, I'm so alcohol intolerant after a few years of binge drinking that even the mention of alcohol makes me physically anxious, it's rather odd
