    Oh FUCK.
I didn't realise this would be another 3D vehicle.

Here's hoping there'll be a regular release as well. sad

    ...wait. What? uhm

I thought we were talking about bunnies.

But are bunnies now inexplicably some insanely weird and deeply disturbing analogy for The Lion King?
If so, I retract my previous post.

Well, a few years ago certain members were telling either Ravi (Demonstar) or Miya to stop talking about The Lion King or we would start shooting bunnies. So then every time someone mentioned TLK someone would post the shooting gif and the bunny gif. Eventually it just morphed inside my mind to TLK = bunny

On the other hand I think why not? If a Canadian foetus can become a global superstar then it's obvious miracles still exists.

I'm pretty sure that every word in the soundtrack credits is just as true as every word in the bible itself.

continuing from the spielberg topic, about PRINCE OF EGYPT / HANS / GERRARD

Ah, that was brilliant. But it was years ago, still brilliant though. However today i am afraid it's mostly Gerrard wailing over synth mock-ups of Gladiator left-overs.

There's no doubt her voice is an incredible talent but boy it's got old fast as far as it's use in scores goes.

It's natural; Gladiator, it was something metered and well-studied, that took its time, very well-worked and had musical meaning (The pieces clearly had structure: a beginning, a middle and an end-point). However, right after her huge success in films, it's just rushed, mindless wailings over synth chords that lead nowhere, just for the sake of having Gerrard improvising with you (just like her countless post-Gladiator solo albums which are unlistenable for the most part).

Either the composers working with her are relaxed in their minds that just having her name tag guarantees success, either she has become such a diva that doesn't let them sit down, organize their pieces and structurally fit her voice in there, the proper musical way. I mean if you look at the Bible recording videos, it's exactly that: "Hans, you'll start playing, and i will improvise on top until you stop playing".

  2. But Gerrard was a huge music star BEFORE she joined the ranks of Gladiator. But yes, people seem to be scared of her Big Diva Status.

She was, but in the indie, new age cycles. Post Gladiator, she gained a wider, worldwide recognition and also got her into the orchestral, classical circles.

Within the electronica loving community Lisa Gerrard is also well known as a long time clolaborator of Klaus Schulze.
Bach's music is vibrant and inspired.

    yeah

I doubt many of the general public would even recognise her name let alone know who she is.

So I caught a little bit of the Bible miniseries on the History channel at a relatives house yesterday and lets just say, a synth score was the only appropriate choice because a serious orchestral score would have sent the whole thing over the edge into pure hilarious cheese that even the most devout person could hardly have taken seriously...IMO at least...

Well, I actually think it DID end up as 'hilarious cheese', but it was not the fault of the score, which did everything it could to cover up a too-reverent tone. It all comes off as a Fox Faith production. But the special effects are great....the series can be enjoyed for the spectacle.
    I am extremely serious.

So another Jesus porn series? i think only Gerrard can wail over that thing though.

(as a side-note: i loved Gibson's Passion of the Christ) but i caught a glimpse on the bible series and couldn't stop laughing. The music makes it even more hilarious.
