*sigh* all the countless hours i spent on that one (amidst others) for my bachelor thesis and you wanna kill the little tiny poor thing?

btw if it weren't for its pressure equalization function within the ear, your acoustic membrane would be blown to pieces by the tiniest sound so i am SURE you don't want it to die just yet cheesy

If I remember correctly, sinus passages don't fill up with gunk, it's a narrowing of the arteries that causes the pain. ( please someone correct me if I'm wrong? )

    You have my sympathies Anthony.

I read that the nasal mucous membranes swell up and that feels as if the sinus passages are stuffed. In both cases it is blocked anyway.

A month ago I got a spray, Nasonex (corticosteroids), and the headaches and pressure on my cheekbones and temples are gone. I still feel pressure on my ears though. Now, a month later, it is time to stop using the spray and see what happens. The doctor thought I caught virus after virus, but I'm starting to wonder if it's an allergy or something... so I'll go back next week or something.

Anthony, I hope your ear gets well soon! If it's a cold steam inhalation may releave the pressure a bit!

I'm using menthol at the moment. It's really smelly stuff I put in a mug of hot water and breathe in but it seems to be working. smile

That's great. I used Eucalyptus oil for that.

Until I read that eucalyptus and menthol can irritate the mucous membranes so they swell... which was the opposite of what I was trying to achieve!
    dizzy

Anthony, make up your own mind, if it works for you it works. You can always change to just hot water, does the trick as well! Some people advise menthol, some advise against it. You can feel yourself what it does. Just listen to your body!
