I reckon we'll end up with a good ol' 15 min portion of score amidst 45 min of Elton John pop songs in the soundtrack. tongue

For those wanting to hear the End Credits suite from The Last Airbender with the chorus, here you go:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mZPy-eAGnY

The choir just elevates the music so much more. I don't know how long that link will be up, but save it or listen to it while you can.

Too bad for Yared, he's rejected again. But at least we're going to have a new JNH score. And Conrad Pope' said on his Facebook, that he's been busy working on both scores.
  2. The oboist playing on JNH's score is praising the work and the director.

I'm curious... would the oboist have anything to say if he or she hated the score and the director?

  3. Tom Boyd (that's the name) rarely speaks out about the work he performs except just to state happiness that he is recording anything, this time he singularly praised the score.
http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website
  4. He's been an oboist on a shcoking number of personal favorite scores, often with wonderful oboe playing.
The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.
  5. Can we say that Boyd is the oboe equivalent of Malcolm McNab on trumpet?

    Who?

In any case, does anyone publicly have anything bad to say about the scores they are playing on. Seriously.

Elton mentioned JNH on a radio interview I heard at the weekend. I have to say, I have a newfound respect for JNH now I know he is responsible for the string arrangement of "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". His finest achievement!

Great! I hope it's good. But, normally, JNH's replacement scores are wonderful.

Let it just please not be a "Duplicity 2"!!! That was such an exchangeable score!
Still a pity for Yared. Would have loved something in the vein of "Talented Mr. Ripley"!

Duplicity grew on me after some more listens. JNH sure is a versatile composer!

Though yes, I hope this one is more along the lines of My Best Friend's Wedding.

Nice touch, the Yared track. Since it's a dance, I suppose Yared had to compose it up front, before filming, to use it during filming.
