You were pissed when Harry Gregson-Williams did the "Taking of Pelham 123" remake, you were angered when hey had the nerve to get Tyler Bates for the remake of "The Day the Earth Stood still", and now I present you the oppritunity to get you even angrier:

    Klaus Badelt on "Ben Hur"

    I shit you not:

Wait, when was there a remake of Pelham?

What's Taking of Pelham 123? shame

D, the original starring Walter Mathau and Robert Shaw is a must see classic with one helluva score by David Shire.

This film was a huge influence on Reservoir Dogs.

p.s. I've heard nothing about the remake but I'm sure it'll be shitty.

Yeah, the original PELHAM film is cool! Quality entertainment, recommended.
    I am extremely serious.

Indeed. Great film. So glad Tony Scott is in charge of the remake!

    I hope so!?

Mel watched and enjoyed the Coen brothers remake of THE LADY KILLERS, a film I thought was a complete misfire, I showed her the Ealing classic original with Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers and she was blown away by it.

My point being that just because it's good film makers doesn't necessarily mean it'll be good.

Exactly how I was so sure Indy 4 was going to be a great film with post-millenium Spielberg at the helm.
    How wrong I was. sad

    Didn't we all!? sad slant

It's still a decent popcorn film but an extremely poor Indy entry. 'Raiders' is Bond's Goldfinger while 'Crystal' is Octopussy.

  2. Hmmm...

I just wonder if I wouldn't call Raiders the Indy On Her Majesty's Secret Service biggrin

Though, contrary to Ford, Lazenby can't act bunny

    biggrin wink

Personally I think Lazenby was very underrated as Bond, like Moore, what Lazenby lacked in acting-chops he made up for in charisma. OHMSS is a GREAT Bond film and the score is to die for.

No, I spend my Dana time listening to Sean Callery instead. wink

Dana's music is pleasant, but I'd prefer to listen to something really loud and in my face. Bond, Indy, Batman etc. etc.

  7. Apart from PUBLIC ENEMIES & DAYBREAKERS (oops, and the Shire score), some of the ones I'm most interested didn't make that top 10 list...

    Tetro (Osvaldo Golijov)
    Mao's Last Dancer (Christopher Gordon)
Broken Embraces (Alberto Iglesias, Almodovar's next film)
Cheri (Desplat), Afterwards (Desplat), Tree of Life (Desplat)

DAYBREAKERS is a great score, incidentally. I don't have it, but I've heard it, and I was very disappointed that it didn't make it out this year.

I'd place Broken Embraces (Alberto Iglesias, Almodovar's next film) Cheri (Desplat), Afterwards (Desplat), Tree of Life (Desplat) above anything else this year actually. Oh and where's ANGELS AND DEMONS in the list?

  8. I'm sure someone is looking forward to A&D, but Mikael (and I, for that matter) probably aren't.
