    Her first film score.

Yeah, I gather she had to take some time off after that thing with Banner.
Apparently musical therapy though has helped enormously in dealing with the issues she has with her dad.

Even though I reported it a few months ago, it's official: Sean McMahon composed the original score for the direct-to-video sequel The Grudge 3.

Haven't seen the 2nd one 'cause of relevant to yours reviews smile But the first one was pretty good, although i preferred the original instead. Chris Young's scores were far superior though.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

The first GRUDGE was film was one of the scariest films of all time, IMO. I saw it in the theatre with my younger brother when it came out, and it singlehandedly scared me off horror movies for a long time. Maybe I'm getting older and softer, I don't know, but there was something about the immediate, visceral nightmare visions of that which haunt me to this day. I didn't see the sequel, and am really unsure if I want to see the third, as I really want to preserve the film-altering experience of the first film by doing so; to water it out, so to speak.
    I am extremely serious.

If you are talking about the american remake, go watch the original japanese version. Man that was a SCARY experience for me.

^ couldn't agree more; the us-remake was good, but lacked soul (as the case with almost all the us remakes of asian horror movies)

On a relevant note, Marcel, i saw QUARANTINE at the neighborhood's dvd-club the other day but i am not touching that! I liked so much the original and i don't want to spoil that experience the slightest bit!

Yes you are right; I watched Quarantine only out of curiosity, but there´s nothing better in it actually.

I was talking about the American remake. I've not seen the original version, nor am I sure I'm up for it. But it was the same Japanese director, so is it really that different in story and execution?

Well, rest assured, the third movie is much better than the second IMO. The third has a simple, straightforward narrative and it does take the plot thread from the first two and goes with it.

Although to its detriment you see a lot more of Kayako (played by a noticeably different actress), but there is a nice twist at the end that builds up to a possible Grudge 4.

I hope so, because the second one was absolutely terrible. Not scary at all + what kind of an ending was that? It felt like it never ended in the first place...

I hope so because the first one was said pretty good

I must rent the original Japanese one though shame

Even more interestingly, I just saw on his website that he is scoring Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. I have been trying to find out who is scoring the show forever (and hoping there's a chance that Chris Beck might be involved).

It seems that Mychael Danna is also scoring the show with Simonsen.

Also, another new project for Danna which I haven't seen mentioned here yet:
