- Comment sounds good to me, I really liked his last one. Interesting to note on his site that he's been writing additional music for series 3 of the tv show Primeval and just did another Red Alert game as well. There was audio from a radio interview as well which was very interesting.

- Comment I just received Red Alert 3 premier edition, complete with soundtrack, and the score is not a disappointment. Hannigan's main theme 'Soviet March' is brilliant as is Klepacki's updated Hell March 3 (complete with orchestra and choir!) Soviet March: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lDQ7hXMLxGc

- Comment There's quite a cool feature at Music4Games on the Red Alert 3 music team here: http://www.music4games.net/Features_Display.aspx?id=302 It looks as though Wynn and Hannigan did most of the score, but Frank Klepacki was drafted into reprise his Hell March and Grinder tracks! Sounds good to me.

- Comment
Grimble Gromble wrote If I were Yates, I'd tell my friend Hooper that it's time for him to "expand his horizons" and find a new franchise or something. I mean what director wouldn't want John Williams to work on their film? Especially if the two Deathly Hallow films could ...

- Comment I think we should give a Hooper more of a chance. Of course he's not a Williams (who is??) but let's see what he does on Half Blood Prince and then worry about Deathly Hallows? If Yates is directing the last two, I very much doubt his decision to use Hooper would be overriden by WB. Why rock the ...

- discussion topic JOHN WILLIAMS
- Comment I've always loved Williams' work, from his earlier romantic scores right up until the recent Star Wars/Harry Potter scores. I love the way he's taking in 20th century Russian music of late. You can hear the influence of Prokofiev and Shostakovich in particular in his action writing nowadays.

- discussion topic NICHOLAS HOOPER
- Comment I'm not going to say bad things about Hooper's soundtrack except that it just wasn't very Harry Potter as defined by Williams. I'm not against change, but as a rule, only if it's for the better. I could live with Doyle's effort, however, because he has a very distinctive style. But I draw the ...

- Comment Looking at the recent BAFTA nominations for music, I think it's a shame Powell wasn't nominated for Ultimatum... and it was the same deal last year. The voters must have cloth ears. - discussion topic MICHAEL GIACCHINO
- Comment What I like about Giacchino's work is that it's a welcome return to mostly pure, orchestral music. It's a dying art which needs preserving. I think we're getting past the 90s stage of being impressed by composers who only seem to string samples and textures together, painting by numbers, etc. and ...

- Comment I always felt Soundtrack.net was great. Amazing visual style and a wide range of content. But I have to agree that, of late, it has slowed down considerably and (at least on the face of it) is a bit movie-review oriented. That doesn't seem to fit with the thrust of the site ... or its name. I just ...
