Umm...some pretty good action and suspense cues. Spyders, Everybody Runs and Anderton's Great Escape being the standout cues.

Thats all you got for me Anthony? wink Come on mate! Hey THOR! You always have something to say about a JW score...lets hear it? smile

All I have is the track that The Cincy Pops recorded on their "EPICS" CD. I don't remember it doing much for me, then again think of the scores it was up against on that compilation.

Yeah, it's a great score that I talked a little bit about in this FSM thread:

    http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/p … ;archive=1

Let me just copy and paste a couple of remarks that I had there:

"It's actually a rather complex score that needs to grow on you. Except the "Anderton Escapes" showpiece and arguably "Sean's theme", there aren't many in-your-face adventure licks here. Either subdued or progressive and sinister. A great film noir score, in many ways. The music for the robot spiders is particularly chilling."

    It's like the flip-side of A.I."

    and

"Anyone else notice how the intro of "Eye-Dentiscan" resembles the quirky villain march in SUPERMAN?"
    I am extremely serious.

New update. The Raiders took 2nd place by storm and started a really dirty fight between an alien and some dinos. I´m not sure who´ll win the race for 3rd...

1st place: The Empire strikes back 22 points
2nd place: Raiders of the Lost Ark 14 points
    3rd place: E.T. - The Extraterrestrial / Jurassic Park 13 points each

Close Encounters of the Third Kind / Schindler´s List 8 points each
Return of the Jedi 7 points
    Star Wars 5 points
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade for the Temple of Doom / Memoirs of a Geisha 4 points each
Seven Years in Tibet 3 points
Jane Eyre / Revenge of the Sith 2 points each
Angela´s Ashes / Empire of the Sun / Hook / Superman 1 point each
  1. I've always loved Williams' work, from his earlier romantic scores right up until the recent Star Wars/Harry Potter scores. I love the way he's taking in 20th century Russian music of late. You can hear the influence of Prokofiev and Shostakovich in particular in his action writing nowadays.

True! But there's less than a handful of us that even recognise those influences rolleyes

I' would love to see people look more into classical works!? slant

Okay guys, I will NOT search all topics for double entries and stuff. If you want to change your vote, please specify that you really want it in a way that´s not misunderstandable. I understand that you do not want to change your original vote, franz_conrad? You´re just hypothetically speaking, correct?

And David, please be more specific whether this is your first vote, a changed vote, or no vote at all. This is timeexpensive already, but it´s fun, so I´ll keep doing it, but please, people, don´t make it harder for me than it must be. I will not scroll through pages and pages to look if someone already voted before or not, so please be a bit more specific, okay? Thanks.
  3. In no order:

    1. Jaws
    2. E.T.
    3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else.
  4. I won't change it. The final ranking doesn't mean that much to me. wink

According to JWFan.net, Williams will record his score for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at the Sony Scoring Stage in a few weeks.

Maybe we'll get some snippets of the new score up on the official IJ web site by April...
