I've always found these evolutionary algorithm "creatures" very fascinating to look at.. It's some years old though.

The space shuttle is now docked with the ISS and is due to land back on Earth on the 1st June at 06.33 UTC (BST=UTC+1 I think).
Looking at details for Bristol viewing times for the docked shuttle/ISS is not ideal:
31/5 - 04:05 to 04:09
01/6 - 04:27 to 04:32
I need to check when the shuttle undocks to see if it coincides with ideal viewing times. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

It actually looks like the shuttle is already separated from the ISS.
I will find out details. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Minority Report anyone?

I can't help but think that the movie was the driving force for this rather than the other way round. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Want to see an iridium flare in the UK?
Look west 25 degrees* above horizon at 10:43:50** tonight.
*25 degrees? Stretch out your arm straight and stretch out your thumb and little finger as far as you can. Against the sky that's about 25 degrees.
**Apparently times vary. My own source says time will be 11:02:20

Bristol is at 10:52:33 apparently. And only magnitude -1.0.
Up here magnitude is more like -6.0 so that's going to be quite bright! The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Yes I saw it. Right when it was predicted for this location.
Very bright, lasted for about a second then faded quickly.
They happen often so I'll give details when viewing is convenient. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

For Bristol there's another flare tonight at 22:55:45 in the same position in the sky - west and about 25 degrees. I found the actual location in the sky a bit higher than I was expecting. So maybe look slightly higher from the horizon than you think you neee to.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

The volcano Puyehue in Chile is making a very agreeable spectacle these days. The image linked above has me happy in my pants and serves as "proof" why I want to be a volcanologist. Sadly, I'll never see something like this myself.
Oh well...at least I'll live long enough to see the two Hobbit movies! -

Anyone watching the final shuttle launch? Seven minutes to launch and weather looks good to go.
I remember the disappointment of the postponed first launch. Hoping there is no last minute hold-ups.The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn
