Seen my first geminid meteor of the night. I've been popping outside off and on tonight. Sky is relatively clear at the moment but Gemini is yet to get completely overhead so I'll be popping out again later. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

There's not many about at the moment. I'm only going out for 5-10 minute spells and I've still only seen the one. Maybe see more when the moon sets later - and if the sky remains clear. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Well put together, Justin. I think that the moon was setting here in the UK when totality happened. This, together with the fact that it 7:40 am and it was getting light, didn't make for the best viewing conditions.
Oh, and I wasn't even up that early. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Hopefully it won't take long before artist impressions are a thing of the past. An actual mammoth would make artist impressions go extinct.

Yeah but I've seen good artist's impressions, the Mammoth isn't a dinosaur where we ( almost never ) don't know skin texture, colour and other missing bodily tissues, there have been a number of frozen Mammoth's found, some of which are in incredible states of preservasion so NO! I'm not forgiving that bad artworkOn Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Coolio! I had been looking forward to see them go on with the project, but the last article I read (quite a while back) said that the tissues they obtained from the specimens didn't have sufficient genetic material surviving required for a complete reconstruction of the strand. Would be really interesting if they indeed succeed. -
