The event looks real enough, but I was wondering if the walls of the hole were slightly enhanced. The lighting somehow doesn't look quite right. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Whether it's real or fake, either way it's pretty goddamn impressive. -

Awesome! It looks real to me.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

It is real. It's happened a few times before.
Apparently the water from the sewers there erodes the rock the city is built on at an astonishing rate.
It's actually happened before, in 2007. A hole exactly comparable: 100 meters deep, 30 meters wide!

Interesting that the Americans had a "small team" of geologists rooting around. A skeptic may say that they were looking for a more tangible reason for helping in the region?
But that would be a cynical assessment of the situation. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

“This will become the backbone of the Afghan economy”, except that the money probably will be for foreign countries, as usual. Or am I too cynical as well?Kazoo -
- CommentTimeJun 14th 2010
Quite cynical indeed.
Slightly akin to evil tongues and minds suggesting that Marshall help really was instigated to kickstart post-war American industries. (Point being that even if there is a clear self-serving interest, that doesn't mean by a long shot that that wouldn't have short and long term beneficial effects in the region).'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

An amazing color map that traces the subtle but all pervasive influence the pull of gravity has across the globe.
