  1. NP: 'Hymn of the Fallen' from SAVING PRIVATE RYAN

As part of a random tour through my favourite John Williams' tracks. This is such a hauntingly powerful piece. I wish Williams had written it before they put the film together, and the writers had written the script so that this piece would coincide with the emotional climax of the film. This could have been incredible as the first piece of music to accompany any battle sequence in the film.

Woot! The theme from third track (But Not Through My Realm) is fantastic! Very catchy.
Ver enjoyable score, snce it isn't very long either, which defenitely makes it a strong listen.

As I said elsewhere, Fantastic score! cool

A Beautiful Mind | James Horner

My own 'edit'. I've taken out all of the "heavy", depressing cues for a nicer more relaxing album experience. (With a healthy 41 minute running time.)

I was talking with my friend yesterday who only saw the film for the first time earlier in the week and he commented about the excellent use of underscore in the bugs scene, many composers would have scored this with Goldenthal or Horner like string writing but the way JNH scores it is incredibly low key and extremely eerie, one of the most effective scenes in the movie, it's a shame this part of the score doesn't appear on the album.

I only just discovered the music for chase with the "fuck ugly" guy was included in the suite recently. It's kick-ass factor has increased even more.

Once again playing JAWS in honor of the late great ROY SCHEIDER who just passed away!

Thankyou Roy for the bringing the character of Chief Brody to life so wonderfully! RIP Chief!
  3. Playing MULAN in honor of the great Jerry. Fine score. punk

The Golden Compass - Alexandre Desplat

I don't know what it is about this score, but I can never listen to it all in one go. There's too much quiet music in the first half and too much action in the second. Not quite the score I hoped it would be, but still a much better adventure score than something like Narnia.

It´s party time with Bernstein. So joyful and full of energy it´impossible not to like this one. It´s full of highlights, but "Main Title (Orchestra and Chorus)" and "Which Way Did They Go" are specially great. punk

    NP:JUMP er (powell)

I didn't expect very much about the movie, and I didn't expect very much about the score either.

It doesn't has a distinctive motif or theme to put all this stuff together, but Powell mix of sounds and colors is still very enjoyable.

the first tracks are like Mr ad Mrs smith, and the second half like Xmen3 with electronics.

    Interesting.

(nice to hear some Evolution thematic rythms here)
