Fair enough ( Mel would certainly agree with you ), I've never liked champagne, whether cheap or expensive.

Champagne, cheap or expensive, smells like Pee. If i know how pee tasted, i'd bet it also tastes the same.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I think you'll find you mean beer.
Champagne,as long as you stay away from the ubiquitous Moët et Chandon (except the brut Imperial, which is really quite lovely), is one of the most uplifting drinks one could have, even (or especially shame ) when mixed into Mimosas.

Too bad it's so bloody expensive. slant :broke:

Incidentally, here's a free tip: diclophenac (an industry-strength pain killer) does mix EXTREMELY poorly with hot cocoa with rum and whipped cream, followed by sushi.

vomit to the power of vomit

I don't think I have anything left in my stomach any more.

Maybe not that much of a hangover, but I ALWAYS get sick AT THE MOMENT of drinking champagne or cava or similar drinks. Something about the bubbly, sour consistency that doesn't comply with me. A glass is fine, maybe two. Anymore..... vomit

I really should have several weeks of detox after the last month (Dubai-Denmark-London w/lotsa boozing), but I'm planning to go to a tapas party with some friends tonight. I'll bring some special "strong ales" that I bought from a local brewery on the island in Denmark, as well as some white wine. Right now, the weather is wonderful - sunny and OK temperature (not terribly warm), no signs of any ash clouds - so it should be good.

I miss the wonderful beers in London, though (not to mention the great prices, which were about HALF of Norwegian prices for at least TWICE as good beer.....London Pride, Doom Bar, Abbot Ale etc.!).
    I am extremely serious.

Haha. No, it's non-profit. Volunteers and youth, with (not much) help from the local government keep maintaining a pub. Most people are around 25. Very cool and I havent been visiting much else in the past years.

    Yes. Archaic English.
This is from the King James bible, but you'll find the style in Shakespeare (to name but the most formidable one) a lot.

Just returned from a concert of Vive La Fête, a Belgian electropop band.
Very danceable...and very eighties...although the eighties never sounded as good as this. It's true waht they say: nostalgia is much better than the real thing! My ears are a little plugged right now though...
    What?
    Did anyone say anything?
    WHAT?

Anyway, I especially like their standard exit song. smile

Yup, another week is gone and it's time for chillin' out again.

In an hour or so, I'm going out to meet some colleagues from the film site I'm writing for. It's still a bit too cold (and late) for enjoying some outdoors beverages, I think. Currently warming up by enjoying one of the absolutely fabulous beers that are brewed locally on the island in Denmark (Fur) that hosts my family's summer house. In fact, I would go so far as to say that these are my favourite beers of all time.
