Only just got in from work. The three of us who were on tonight actually finished at about half 10 but then we decided to raid the bar and drank wine in the restaurant until about 30 minutes ago. It was brilliant. A rarity, since we had no supervisor on tonight, but a superb way to finish a shift. Anyway, I'm supposed to be back in work in less than seven hours so I had better get some sleep...

Haha, fucking happened tonight as well. Even better, I did a stock check in the cellar today and found 32 bottles of expired beer. I shared them with my fellow barman and brought them home. Result. By the way, they taste absolutely fine - they're only about 8 days out. My supervisor, seriously, said: "Well they'll have to be thrown out then..."

    Perks of the job.

Going to see the Top Gear live show here in Oslo in a couple of hours, even though I have zero interest in cars.

Has anyone seen it; is it interesting for non-car fans as well?

If you're talking about Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May then a big YES! cars bore the fuck out of me too but Top Gear is unmissable.

  1. Looks like these live shows are hosted by Clarkson, Hammond and May. Should be good.

I see that the Oslo shows are billed as the only shows on the tour to be held on "mainland Europe".

Show was slightly disappoinging. Then I saw the Norway-Denmark match, which ended in a draw (OK). But then - sadly - I lost my credit card.

    Damn.

    Drunk nowl

  2. Already had some Brahma beer, Australian red wine and a couple or Talisker's. And some tiramisu with coffee liqueur and marsala wine. I'm wondering where I can go from here?

    AA? wink

I wish I could get hold of some Brahma, it's one of the most refreshing lagers I know of and my local store doesn't get it in any more slant

  3. Anyone following me on Twitter or Facebook will already know of consternation at the change to the Brahma bottle. It used to be so curvaceous and fitted so well in the hand. Now it is just like any other bottle!

Me and my cousin have already exhausted the supply of Kingfisher and the curry hasn't even arrived yet. Now on to the leftover Tsing-tao from last week...

Still have a bottle of Rioja in the back as well.
  4. Lee, I am just curious. What part of the country are you in at the moment?

Well, I was about to put on some music and chill at home for the night but a friend just phoned, he's at a regular haunt of ours and a band is playing and he wants me to join them and I don't need much prompting and.......

    Damn, I envy you guys!

No alcohol for me tonight, since last night was rough and expensive, but I've just devoured 700 grams(!) of potatoe chips and feel nauseous. It's so good, I have no self control when it comes to potatoe chips. No wonder I've gained 20 kilos in 3 years.

  7. I've no idea of weight quantities! Is that a big bag?
