NP : Resident Evil : Apocalypse - Jeff Danna

A good solid horror / action score .
It finds its way regularly to my CD player ... spin

NP - THE INTERNATIONAL - Tom Tykwer, Johnny Klimek, Reinhold Heil (anyone else?)

A rather low key thriller score that seems like it's afraid to do anything loud. It's never in your face, it never really gets going anywhere, but the end title is quite a good James-Bondian cue.

    Nice, snoozing background.

N.P. CHRISTOPHER YOUNG - the uninvited

dark, dark , dark, DARK, DARK! I absolutely love this man in this mode and i SO missed it! punk punk

[edited to add] that choral work is CREEPY! Switch the lights off, listen to "Cry of Love" or "The Screaming Bell" LOUD! shocked shocked

    Told ya! wink punk

Damn, it's great isn't it? punk punk
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

  1. NP: The Cassandra Crossing Jerry Goldsmith

Now this is harder to appreciate. A lot of dark, attacking, suspenseful attacks which more more on rhythm than melody.

But the detail alone keeps you intruiged for what to come

The sad piano theme, it's very reminicent of Joe Harnell's TV theme but Goldsmith wrote Cassandra before Hulk.

    I think it's in track 9 - It's God Will ...
It's indeed a bit reminicent of Joe Harnell's Lonely Man Theme .

You may want to.....but you certainly don´t NEED to. Anyway, just one listen just to compare how to write great horror music and how to write standard, boring, clichéd horror music can´t harm you wink And what a coincidence we have such a fine example at the same time.

Perhaps his best effort as composer, this is quite a lovely relaxing score. A but New Age-ish but very pleasant.

There is an official release. Hopefully it's still in print, as it's a great score.
