I saw a bit of it playing on BluRay in an HMV store the other day. Looked rather trippy.

Yeah, it is so, rather trippy. Quite unusual but very entertaining.

    Raiders of the Lost Ark

I'm re-discovering the Indiana Jones films on DVD together with my son who is seeing them
for the very first time . Well , he actually saw Indy 4 together with me at the cinema and good
lad that he is , he wanted to discover the original trilogy as well ... smile
He enjoyed Raiders immensely , the action , the humor , the adventure and even the music ! wink
Yes folks , that kid has taste ... lol
It's a joy to watch this stuff with my son and to see that he loves it as much as I did when I first saw it back in 1981 .
A time when the adventure film was back with a capital B !

Just a thing that I'm always wondering about when re-watching Raiders ...
I can clearly remember at its original screening a scene were Indy straps himself to the periscope of the U-boat just after he jumps Katana's ship and we get to hear that heroic Indy theme were you automatically wanna salute to ... spin All versions I've seen so far doesn't have that scene re-instored . Anybody else remember that scene or am I going completely gaga ?

That scene was NEVER used! They filmed it but it was cut.

And I was almost going to see it some months ago at a local arty cinema, but I missed it as it only played once.

Ah! Looks like there's no way to search the reviews and articles. Does the search function only work for the forums?

Yeah, true. I should expanded that.

It was filmed ! I'm not bananas ! lol
Looks like my young mind played tricks on me then .
The scene was probably in the comic and I or my mind just mixed the two together .
It was 28 years ago ... biggrin

    Classic.

There are SO any people convinced the Biggs scenes on Tatooine were in the original Star Wars release in 1977. And they really weren't.
Yet they swear they saw them.

Leaked photos, novel tie-ins and time will wreak havoc on the memory. smile

    The Lives Of Others

An outstanding psychological and political thriller by (then) first-time writer/director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck which unfolds in Communist East Germany during the '80s and examines the chilling realities of existence under a totalitarian system. Ulrich Mühe gives an impressive yet subtle performance and becomes quite a captivating screen presence despite his character's quiet and apparently emotionless form. Both suspenseful and poignant, this really is a masterful achievement from von Donnersmarck.

I'm not sure I enjoyed it quite as much as either Batman Begins or indeed Iron Man to be honest. Not saying it's anything other than very good, but don't quite see why it was singled out for so much praise by so many people.

McQueen's performance is brilliant. The music is brilliant. The film is brilliant.

Damn, I love how Tarantino does surprises me every time with just the most insane story build-ups and outright fantastic twists. I admit I did not know the slightest info about this, other than that it starred Kurt Russell, but it didn't look all that interesting to me when it released. Until yesterday that changed: this movie had me in complete awe (especially the end). I will not spoil it here, but when you don't expect a movie to be anything resembling decent, and it actually is waaaaay better than decent, those are the most fun you can have with and are the ones that stick in your head for how original they are. And the way Tarantino makes characters talk about the most mundane things in the most interesting ways is pure unmistakable talent and vision. I will never doubt this man again.

Aye, a great one. It doesn't seem to get much love from the critics though. What performances from McQueen and Hoffman!
