There´s two "European Composers" yet to be announced: one this friday (june 5) and the other one on wednesday, june 10. And we´ll have a preliminary programme of the concert tomorrow, according to the organisation.

I´d like it too, but I doubt we are gonna have another top composer this year. We might be surprised though, but IMO it´s very unlikely.

My doubt is which composer will hear more music of, I mean, Hisaishi was gonna conduct for half an hour aprox., so there is gonna be more Giacchino (yes! yes!)? More Young? More Baños?

I saw him once but couldn't be arsed.

I'm different now, I'd approach him and order him to sign my copy of Bridge Over The River Kwai.

Well, I´d prefer Medal of Honor instead of Star Trek and Up, but it is certainly a great programme. One of my Giacchino fav works is gonna be performed though (SWON) so no complaints!

Regarding Giacchino´s part in the symphonic concert, but still preliminary, it seems "Ratatouille" will also be performed, and the piece of "Star Trek" will be the End Credits cue.

As for Rombi, they´ll perform "Joyeux Noël" (Hymne Des Fraternisés) and, still unconfirmed, "Un Homme et son Chien" and "Angel".

Bruno Coulais is the new (and tne last one) guest for Úbeda 2009. He comes back after he was in the festival in 2006.

They are working so that his music for "Coraline" can be performed in the symphonic concert.

I've just noticed the Giacchino stuff at the concert is last. sad

Marcel/Jordi, did you guys also get the urge to kill yourself during those Broughton pieces a couple of years back? It was 2.30AM when he went on!!! I felt like crawling up and dying.

Pro plus to the rescue this year!!!! knight

Indeed, it was a looong concert. This year looks like it will be long too. But:

1 - Remember that in 2007, after the break, they performed that raffle / draw? Last year they corrected it and didn´t do that (it saved us at least 20 minutes).

2 - In 2007 the entrance to the place was quite chaotic. Last year they improved that too, providing another entrance and making it easier (and FASTER) for the people to reach the seat.

If it starts on time, and with these little improvements, we should be having a great after concert party by 2:30AM beer

On the other hand, and according to the preliminary programme, Philippe Rombi will perform "Joyeux Noël", "Un Homme et Son Chien" and "Angel"; and Bruno Coulais will perform "Coraline" (Dreaming”, “End Credits”, “The Party” and “The Supper”).

Edited to add that Giacchino´s "Roar!" will be performed (although his suites for videogames fall down).
    Giacchino´s final program:
    - "Roar!"
    - "Star Trek" (End Credits)
    - "Ratatouille" - "Up" (Suite)
    - "Lost" (Suite)

ALL film music concerts are spectacular: Úbeda, Madrid, Ghent, wherever wink

On the other hand, Giacchino´s part of the concert will be as it follows:

    1.- Star Trek "End Credits"
2.- Suite of "Ratatouille + Up"
    3.- Suite of "Lost"
    4.- Cloverfield "Roar!"

So Roar! will be the last cue of the whole concert. The perfect finale.
