The hassle is my primal objection. I am not traveling in the middle of a country alone, to places i've never been while nobody else speaks adequate English. Too much. And the extra cost of that is too much for me.
Then , Can anyone make SoniCineMad back!!!! I beg you! -

They´ve updated the web of the Festival regarding the symphonic concert. The orchestra will be the same as in 2007 and 2008 (Filarmonía Orchestra), as well as the amazing Ziryab Choir; in addition to the Ziryab Choir, there will be a new choir in town this year, so the concert can´t be more promising!

It's just occurred to me, what are the chances we'll get a performance of Roar? The perfect concert piece! -

Aah, awesome! Thank you already!
The idea is to extend the Ubeda trip and spend a few days in Barcelona, with Jordi and Marselus being guides! It's just an idea so far, but going to look into it more soon. It's mainly to make the trip more worth it on cultural level than just looking at olive trees, and also because I want to see Barcelona!
We've to check what dates fit best for Jordi and Marselus. I think the best would be after the concerts, since it's on a Sunday then that we can return to Barcelona, and then add a two days or so, until Tuesday 21 July? Just proposing.
Anyone wants to join?Kazoo -

Barcelona is awesome.
Let me see what I can manage.
No promises, though!
In the end, enthusiasm notwithstanding, it'll probably be another pipe dream again.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

If we arrive on Friday actually, then we don't miss any of the concerts right? That means I could take holiday at work on Friday, Monday and Wednesday (Tuesday is free day in Belgium). Perhaps 2 days of Barcelona is a bit short though...Kazoo -

No, a recital (friday 17th) and a symphonic concert (saturday 18th). The symphonic concert is divided in as many parts as guests are taking part in it.
Yes, we are staying for the cd signing. Actually we are staying until monday morning this year, so that we can have lunch and dinner with the composers on sunday.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

Michael Giacchino may take part in Friday night´s recital (he is considering its participation), according to the last news. He has also confirmed his participation in the Audiovisual Music Workshop (15th and 16th of July).
There´s also a preliminary programme in the Festival web (only available in its spanish version by now).

NOOOOO!!!!!!
He was the reason why I was so much looking forward to this years Ubeda festival!!!
Kind of nasty by the Ubeda-page: they removed him from the guest list but did not post a "breaking news message" on the home main page... this definitely will be a delicat piece of information for a lot of people to decide, if the want to go to Ubeda or not...
Who else they will gonna get? -
- CommentTimeJun 2nd 2009 edited
Well i can understand that they wouldn't naturally want something like this too loud and in bold letters; it's logical, especially if it wasn't indeed their fault but a last minute cancellation on behalf of the composers. But they have to be careful and professional with this.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

They did, but it seems only in the spanish version of the web.
Anyway, as far as I know, they sent an email to the attendants. Actually I knew it via email.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

Aha, okay.
I've not yet decided if I will attend... it still depends on some administrative things... but I hope, that I can get accredited as press member in the next two weeks...
