I agree with Demetris on this one. I think Life as a House is his most "beautiful" one.
For me his magnus opus is still Fly Away Home for all its themes, orchestrations, choice of instruments and I still hope this gets a legit release one of these days with the bookends songs too. -

Yeah, in essence. I don't remember much of it anymore, but I remember not liking it particularly when I saw it a couple of years ago. Even though I tried hard. Some kiddie flicks simply don't do anything for me.I am extremely serious. -

Shocked you would call Fly Away Home a kiddie film!!! I don't get that feeling for one second. It's not because a kid plays the lead it's therefore aimed at kids alone. But I admit the movie tries to connect to your inner feelings of innocence and wonder, feelings that everyone had when they were kids. But it works too if you've seen it for the first time as an adult, like me. Oh and the score is great, so that helps a lot.

Well, it IS a "kiddie" or rather FAMILY film. However, that does obviously not mean that adults cannot enjoy it. I love plenty of kiddie or family films myself, most recently UP. However, this one left me cold.I am extremely serious. -

Even the stunning visuals of birds and an aircraft flying against the evening sky was nothing to you?
But the real story behind the movie could impress more people... this crazy man who made his dream of "flight with birds" come true.
What's most amazing about him is that he combined his innocent dream with science and eventually wildlife conservation... He really inspired me!

The Rock not so much for me, but it's a very enjoyable one.

THE ROCK is obviously the quintessential MV-style score and a milestone for many young film music fans. But CRIMSON TIDE was earlier and a good representative too. It's not QUITE as strong from a thematic viewpoint as the Nicholas Cage vehicle, though.I am extremely serious. -
