And the affected foot from the stroke I fear will have to be looked at by a doctor as the nails are all turning black, something that shouldn't be.

Hmmm...it may just be a fungus.
Apparently that happens a lot. Unpleasant and unaesthetic, but not dangerous.

But I echo the former page's sentiments, Tom.

Get it checked ASAP Tom, to me it sounds like your toes are dying.

I didn't want to be that alarmist. But, Tom, you do need to get this seen to as soon as possible.

    shame

I'm sure your toes aren't dying, just that it sounded like a case of serious frostbite.

    Doctor's appointment Tom, ASAP. smile

May be a fungus - and may highlight an underlying deficiency in your immune system (or circulation). Vitamin B12 deficiency apparently can also lead to nail discolouration.

Have had horrible toothache for the last couple of days. Went to the dentist today and need to go for root canal. My only experience of root canal is that CJ had it on The West Wing and didn't enjoy it very much. It doesn't sound very pleasant.

Whatever James, it's got to be better than a continuing toothache.

    You have my sympathy.

Good luck James. To make you feel better, just think of that 23 year coma man, that way a root canal won't seem so bad?

Indeed not! There are many worse things. I don't know if it's even painful at all. It just doesn't sound very nice.

    The procedure isn't too bad.
The aftermath can be a bit unpleasant (when the anaesthetic wears off).
Make sure they prescribe some pain killer for the night following.

It doesn't sound nice at all, that's true...

It's easy for me to say, I never had anything done with my teeth, not even a filled tooth or something!
But I really don't like the feeling of cleaning teeth or just anything with my teeth. It's like the most uncontrolable place of the body, very sensitive and you can't see what they're doing and you have to breathe through there as well.

Anyway, I always try to dream away a bit too.
By the way, my sister works at a dentist's and she sais some people even fall asleep in the chair haha. That means it can't be that bad.
    wink

    James,
There are many things worse than getting a root canal surgery. As long as they use the local anaesthetic you'd do fine. Listening to this album is more painful in comparison.

I had that last year (four canals for one tooth) and I had to use my first paycheck money for it. sad

It's not that bad. I had to lay open with my mouth for about one hour and a half, with some sort of napkin attached around that tooth, so that the dentist (female!) wasn't distracted by the beautiful surroundings of that tooth. The worst part was the fourth canal, which had a knack, and she didn't found exactly what way it turned, so she had to froggle the whole time. It's the feeling you have when somebody scratches his nails on a chalk board but for 15 minutes. FUUUUCK!

Did you not have the option of just having it extracted? Or is it a tooth at the front?

There is good news with the root canal. The tooth can be saved and you can afford to have the canal and the ensuing crown

this is what I suspect although I'm not a doctor of course. The stroke caused lack of circulation already.

She did give me that option but I didn't even consider having it removed, to be honest. (For aesthetic reasons.)

Got the flu now too. Was waiting for it to happen, just hoped for a better timing.

Worst thing is that I always get sinus infections when I get flus or colds, and my allergies goes so nuts that I can't even open my eyes when it's worst, which makes the illness feel 3 times worse, so I'm in for a week of pain.
