A friend has just told me that a newspaper printed that Breivik was playing Clint Mansell's Requim For A Dream music on a loop while commiting his atrocity, he also said it was the music used in the climatic battle in Lord of The Rings confused

Can anyone confirm this and clarify it, my mate isn't very informed with film music but he may be just relating misinformed journalism.

A remix of it was used in the trailers of lord of the rings.

Yeap. As Martijn said though it doesn't matter to me at all. Hitler was in love with Wagner and i remember having read somewhere some reports (if true) from that time that he played Valkyries through camp speakers whilst on the balcony and watching jews walking towards their death. Wagner is a genius of musical history. Hitler, as this new fuck here, should have never existed.

Many should have never existed and many more who left should have been here still but unfortunately we can't do anything about it. What we can though is remeber the ones who left with love and respect and as a society be on the alert to prevent such attrocities from happening.

Oslo and Norway have been covered in flowers recently.

Here are some pictures from Oslo:

And here are some I took myself, from the memorial event in Grimstad, the small town in the South where I hail from:

Best not to Jim, I've been near rioters before and you're just as likely to get your head bashed in by the police as much as any yobbo.

Looking at this on the BBC website and it's rapidly spreading and seemingly out of control, some big disturbances in Birmingham too.

The fact that the rioters smashed the window of McDonald's in Birmingham and stole some chicken mcsandwiches - but did not break into the museum almost literally next door which contains the world's largest stash of Saxon gold - says a lot.

I wonder how many of them even know what they're rioting about. I wonder whether it matters.

Been a while since we've seen anything like this. Hope the police manage to get it contained soon and it doesn't spread even further than it already has.

This is the video he uploaded in youtube before the massacre. Disturbing to say the least. And the music collections, all from the film / game music genre (recognized knut avenstroup haugen's hyperborian score)

It pains me to see such beautiful music being used in this sickening propaganda. I've seen the video once and I think there were used 3 tracks from the "Age Of Conan" soundtrack. It must be dreadful for a composer to see his music being abused in a video like this. sad

Literature, films and music, though usually songs ( The Beatles 'Helter Skelter' comes to mind ) have long been a staple of mentalist head cases.

For years, you couldn't play Beethoven, Wagner, etc in Europe because of Hitler's appropriation of them for Nuremberg rallies.

(Tongue in cheek) It's too much to hope that Zimmer power anthems used by Fox News to underscore the 2004 Iraq war might suffer the same fate. wink

The 'disturbances' in Birmingham tonight meant I had to walk home from work since all the buses were called back. Couldn't even go for a drink after work because they closed the pubs early too!

Yeah, the yobbo element is ugly to see. Peoples homes and livlihoods have been destroyed by a mindless majority.
