I love Zoey, and Joseph Gordon Hewith it will be a star in a few years.

One of this movies that really makes me feel....in love!

    punk love

Long time ago I enjoyed this type of movie! The music of Danna and Rob Simonson is really nice, with some cute piano melodies. Never too mellow.(I didn't knew there was a score release!!)

    Thanks for the tip!

(It borrows a bit from Amélie's storytelling now and then)

    KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, director's cut

A wholly different movie with what's perhaps the best direction and visuals for Ridley Scott so far; Harry Gregson Williams' score in this one is nothing short but impressive, imo. I wonder why they even let the problematic in all aspects-theatrical version ever get released.

I thought the film was very por but maybe I should give the directors cut a try? The main problem I had with it is Orlando Bloom who would have difficulty convincing me that water is wet.

Well, yeah, that is still a problem indeed; the theatrical cut is quite messy, the director's cut is overly long, but a much better film all and all, with some very impressive visuals / w music, both of those heavily chopped up in the theatrical version. But still, if you find Blood irritating, there's nothing in the director's cut to keep you from breaking the tv i guess smile
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

I thought the director's cut was OK - haven't seen the other version. Don't like Orlando Bloom.
  1. Have you seen the episode of Extras with him? He's amazing playing a very self-humiliating version of himself. And he even added some of his most stupid behavior on screen to the script to make it funnier! I was impressed.

It was a very funny series, particularly liked the episodes with Kate Winslet, Vinnie Jones and Patrick Stewart.

    Unforgiven

    Yep, this is bloody brilliant.

    Rating: 9 out of 10

Good movie. A bit slow though. The end scene was brilliantly executed. <-pun

    Leviathan

I love these kinds of movies, and I remember worshipping this movie as a kid. Seeing it again though, I was struck by how crappy the special effects were. It's 7 years after "The thing", but the effects looks like the movie is seven years older.

    Rating: 6

Good movie all over. Didn't blow me away though.

Nah, I still didn't think he was very funny in that. It was the girl's acting he was playing off that made it funny. His actor character was too much of a caricature.

It started off ok but after the first "plot" ends it just implodes on itself and becomes absolute crap. How does this kind of thing get the green light?

...did you willingly pay money to see this? Or company paid or something?

I only go to the cinema these days if I can be absolutely positively sure the film is either awesome or has just enough redeeming features -like, say, Predators- to go watch. It's worked out pretty well for the last three or four years since I can't remember watching a single film in the cinema -I willingly chose that is- that I didn't enjoy!

    I'm awesome.

    Nanny McPhee Returns

Yeah, yeah, laugh at me. I know a lot of people are going to hate it (since the snobby high-class kids are revolting), but for me I enjoyed it. I think the presence of Maggie Smith, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emma Thompson elevates this movie. And JNH's score is very enjoyable, even though I didn't like the soundtrack samples at first.

The latter. They do become endearing throughout the film. And the trailer doesn't do a good job of making people other than families and small children want to see it.

But I enjoyed it more than the first, if only because not all of the kids are beasts when you first see them in the film and there's a magical whimsy to it. It's not too sentimental or too silly for me, more than enough reason to buy the R1 DVD.

    Blood: The last vampire (trailer)

All style, no substance. It reminded me a bit of D-war, which had excellent effects, but crap-poor acting and writing.

    Rating: 3 out of 10.

    The forbidden kingdom (trailer)

Hugely entertaining martial arts adventure thingy, with Jackie Chan, Jet Li and some dude pretending to be Shia LaBeouf. This is all style... and plenty of substance as well. David Buckley's score is excellent, especially after Jet Li pees on Jackie Chan's face (I'm serious). It's actually an impressive adventure score throughout by this dude I've never heard of before.

    Rating: 7

Karate kid (aka. Kung fu kid) (trailer)

I loathed Jaden Smith in The day the Earth stood still, but in this one he was actually rather likable. I found the film genuinely touching at times, though there was a bit much chinese superstition for my liking. Horner's score is excellent in certain scenes as well.

    Rating: 7

    3:10 to Yuma (trailer)

Brilliant western with great performances from batman and gladiator. Funny how two actors who are such pricks in real life come so wonderfully together in this movie and gives it life. Beltrami's score is excellent, but I somehow find it better on album than in the movie.

    Rating: 8
