Mighty evening! The Omen Suite was spectacular. Also Grusins part was really cool and quite exotic.
It was also 42 degrees.
More later. We just arrived in Cordoba.Kazoo -

Unless you're a LOST fan you didn't really miss anything extra. I'm going to have a drink and then go to bed. Up early tomorrow to start the trek home.
Great seeing you all! -

I'm already missing you guys! (and the luxury of the Ubeda hotel...).
Oh well, let's see what Cordoba has to offer :-)

True, apart from Lost, medal of Honor, Up, Gun, warhawk, Spartacus, DragonHeart, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, The Omen, Conan and the Dave Grusin pieces, it was a pretty mediocre concert
Sleep well, and have a save trip home! -

Just arrived home. I'm wasted. Sleeping three hours per night during the festival has its consequences.

Nice find! Good to see that one again.
Apparantly, some guy near the front has been filming large portions of the concert with his phone. The quality is not that good, but for those who weren't there, still a nice way to get an impression of the event:
UP - Giacchino
GUN - Lennertz
THE GOONIES - Grusin (better quality) -

I've got all the Giacchino and Lennertzs pieces filmed from the gallery position above the orchestra, as well as Conan and The Omen.
I'll upload when I can, but our flight was delayed for ten hours and I'm still not home! We left Ubeda 21 hours ago. -

Hi guys
I hope that in the meantime all of you have reached home savely.
Funny story about traveling back home from Ubeda:
Me and one of my colleague (Isabelle) wanted to take the night bus service leaving Ubeda at 1:30 am. When we wanted to buy the ticket on Saturday, they told us that this sevice is no longer available (since July 1st). So we could have taken another regular bus connection leaving Ubeda on Sunday morning or afternoon but we would have missed the lunch with the composers then (not to mention the need of a hotel in Madrid... I know, there are other ways to spend the night in Madrid but after four days in Ubeda und with hand luggage this thought was kind of unconfortable either).
So we found another bus connection: leaving Ubeda on Sunday 8 pm and driving all the way south to Granada to catch a night bus service there to reach Madrid on Monday morning at 6 am. Because the only other option would have been a cab for 350 Euros (no trains over night available), we decided to buy that ticket.
On Sunday morning I've met Fernando Velazquez' girlfriend and she told me, that they had to drive back to Madrid soon... long story short, they gave us a ride... something that only can happen in Ubeda!!! Great! -

Ha, sweet!
I'm home now (finally!). The plane was meant to take off at 5.25pmyesterday but in the end we didn't leave until 4.45am. The service was disgusting, I'm never flying with EasyJet again.
If their slogan is you get what you pay for, I want all my money back so I pay nothing.
Anyway, I don't want to talk about flights or traveling any more. I can listen to my new CD's and eat!
I'm still too tired to discuss things in detail, but what an awesome festival! The best one by far.
More later and pics. -

I've flown EasyJet once and it was a very basic but cheap and cheerful experience for me, no delays on outward or return.
Still, as I said, only flown with them once ( well, twice if you count returning

When all goes well, EasyJet is a fine and cheap company.
When anything, but anything, goes wrong, it's a massive hassle for all concerned.
That's what you get with prize fighters like that: skeleton crews, borderline non-existent reserves and no margin for error on any level whatsoever. It's a calculated risk for travelers, to my mind (though no less annoying for all that, of course).'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Btw, Martijn, we went to the Navarro restaurant you recommended. We were in a rush to eat as the concert was about to start but the chicken I had was delicious.
Fine choice sir!
