    NP: SLOW MOTION (Supertramp)

    I think I'm getting older too, because while this album bored me somewhat at the time it was released (some 10 years ago), now I'm really liking it's 'back to basics' blues approach.

    A gorgeous album of acoustic, electronic and sampled music, I love it!

    NP: ANDERSON BRUFORD WAKEMAN HOWE (Jon Anderson/Bill Bruford/Rick Wakeman/Steve Howe)

    Super-prog rock group project from the 80's. Yeah, it's kinda 'massive' and intense at times, but I have a particular attraction to flawless prog rock of this kind.

    Queen of Spades is an opera written by Tchaikovsky that has been nicely adapted into a 33 minute suite by Peter Breiner. Tchaikovsky seems to write so many pleasant melodies that are easy to listen to. The CD# is 8.573015.

    It's very worthwhile. Don't worry, it's nothing like those LSO play Rock albums.

    I don't think I've heard that either.

    Are you talking about the SYMPHONIC JEAN MICHEL JARRE album from Tadlow, Volker? That's a pretty good one, although the versions are hit and miss throughout.

  13. Yeah, that one ... I thought there had been an earlier similar project for the whole of "Oxygene". Looks like I am wrong. I probabaly confused that with "Tubular Bells". There are a few parallels, like remasters, new master recordings, remixes, ...

    Horner wrote this as a tribute to a group of airmen called the Four Horsemen. It's everything I love about the man in one 12-minute suite. cool

    As a reviewer for Naxos I sometimes get some unique material from them and "Boiling Point" is certainly one of them. "String Circle" is a classical hoedown work that could certainly fit into a western film with no problem. I'm going to review and will keep you updated. It was written by Kenji Bunch. The name of the group is the alias Chamber Ensemble.
