White Rabbit and House Of The Rising Sun are up. The extension to the main theme is a tricky one...I'm really familiar with it which leads me to think it's used throughout the series, but I couldn't help but note it was all that was used for Sun and Jin during this episode (their regular theme doesn't show up until season 2), so it could just be an early theme for them...

Oh yes!! I don't know about other regions yet, but season 4 is coming out on DVD in the UK on 20th October instead of the original date (which I think still stands in the US) of 31st December!

Haven't watched much Lost over the past week as I've been feeling ill, so apologies to anyone who was looking for more updates to the theme/motif list (anyone?).
I just finished All The Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues. Turns out that Christian has his own motif. Originally used in White Rabbit when Jack keeps having the visions of him (I thought it was just an apparition motif then); it is actually used again in this episode. I've updated the sound file I had ripped from White Rabbit and have replaced it with a new one where you can hear it much clearer.
Giacchino starts getting complicated in this episode, which probably has the highest number of themes featured in any episode up to this point - the opening of Charlie's theme (in a non-Charlie scene though?), Sawyer's theme, the Life And Death theme and the Main Theme! -

Hell yes, Shannon does have theme. Man, that was too difficult to find! I couldn't work out if "Shannon's Funeral" from season 2 was it or whether it was just another very good piece of music, but it does show up right at the end of Hearts & Minds! -

Season 1 analysis is complete (and season 2 starts tomorrow!). The link is still in my sig.
If you know everything you're listening to, the finale is musically orgasmic!
You've got the Main theme, the Island theme, the Life and Death theme, the Traveling theme and the Redemption theme. Then you've got all the character themes - Sawyer's, Claire's, Hurley's, Boone's (appearing after his death), Michael & Walt's and Sun & Jin's. Then you've still got Rousseau's and Locke's motifs, the Danger motif, the Mystery motif, as well as the first Action motif and Suspense motif 2 which hasn't been heard since the pilot. And even on top of that Giacchino still provides one more Suspense motif, the Discovery motif and the phenomenal Departure theme. Phew!

Season 2 should be cool - we get cool new motifs for The Swan and The Others. And towards the end, the best theme of all - Ben's!

SEASON 5 SPOILERS!! (Nothing overly surprising, more of what will be explored...).
-Michael IS dead.
-Jin is NOT.
-Claire is hardly going to be in season 5 but will return as a main cast member in season 6.
-3 new characters will appear in the pilot
-Returning characters include Roussau, Ana Lucia and Captain Gault.
-Flashbacks/flashforwards are gone - it will be two stories taking place on and off the island at the same time...but not.
-Other stuff that should hopefully be explained include what happened to Henry Gale, the history behind the three toed statue and why Libby was in the mental institution.

If you notice me renaming themes on the big list don't worry - I'm just trying to clarify everything as much as possible. I've pretty much convinced myself that "Parting Words" introduces two themes - one for the survivors, and one for departing the island. I've now renamed the main theme to "Lost Main Theme" rather than "Lost/Survivor's Theme", and have split "Parting Words" into the two themes (listed under Exodus Part 1). I've also added the "Hurley's Handouts" extension of the survivors theme to season 2.
