No, it was actually my hard effort not to sound cliched and grumpy when i saw Chuck Norris II's name being brought up but now that i see the pictures you posted, it could perfectly well mean that as well; APPROVED OF COURSE!

Kinda. But she's not as great as the media seems to think she is...
  1. I just had the ultimate week.

I´ve spend the last six days watching seasons 3 & 4 for the first time, and as you can imagine, it was a hell of an experience, and now I´m very LOST.

What a ride! I mean, LOST is definitely the best mystery series ever done (IF they manage to round it up nicely). Who could have known after season 1 what this series was going to be about? It is just awesome, and there is by far TOO MUCH in my head now to concentrate on any specific aspects of it.

I guess I will read the 22 pages of comments during the next days just to have my daily dose of LOST up to the start of Season 5.

Just one comment, I thought Giacchino´s score for season 4 was absolutely the best he´s done so far for the series, and I´m now looking very much forward what he has done with Star Trek.

    Ralph´s Random Remarks #1:

Of course I´ve read all 22 pages in a row. And wow, am I happy I did that. The Four Trombones is probably one of the coolest things ever! Many, many thanks for doing this.

    - - - - -

    Ralph´s Random Remarks #2:

I love the writers´ choice to name Desmond´s love after the wife of Odysseus. Now that Penelope and Desmond have been reunited, I´m very excited about the fact that the real action in Homer´s Odyssee starts after the hero returns home... and again revenge is the big theme!

    1. Thanks mate! cheesy
    2. Indeed. Considering Ben wants Penny dead, this is going to be fun!

Did anyone else think the season 4 score was REALLY weak on first viewing? Until we got upto The Constant, there was nothing that latched onto me. On second or third viewings though, it's all spot on. The Freighter theme is arguably one of the best themes Giacchino has ever written, and by far the best for Lost (even better than the Departure theme imo!)
  2. Hm... I loved everything I heard immediately, on first viewing. And yes, that freighter theme is just wow.

Indeed, it's one of the most powerful melodies ever written for tv imo. Very emotional and strong.

Yay, season 3 analysis is done...! cool

    Link

Season 3 has always been my favourite (episode wise), however when watching it through this time it struck me that there is a lot of filler. Lots of episodes contribute a bit to the story, but everything between Flashes Before Your Eyes and The Man Behind The Curtain is rather pointless and could easily be condensed into 3 or 4 episodes.. I guess season 4 seems the tightest as it's got a lot of story to squish in in a small time.

How do you choose between a motif and a theme?
  3. I think the matter is length?

Sweet. I had an inkling and a hunch what differentiated a theme to a motif, but I couldn't be sure.

Plus motifs don't often have much variation (again due to their length).
