There's more to film than a straightforward narrative structure, that's all I can say. -

The Sand Pebbles - Jerry G
Spectacularly good as far as I'm concerned. The new album is worth it for those of us who consider ourselves devotees of this score (and I realise it's not a very large group at this messageboard, at any rate). -

I love the version of the theme as heard on Goldsmith Conducts Goldsmith. It's amazing. So given a rerecording, I'm sure I'd be able to enjoy this one a lot more. -

Huh. Maybe I've heard that version and didn't like it then? That's a shame.
The theme though.... my god THE THEME. -

I'm assuming you choose to listen to that inferior version because of your, ahem, views? In which case, would you consider an album similar in length to the promo, but using the far superior tracks from the La La Land release?

Depends. I think it works fine as it is -- having the appropriate amount of calm and action material at appropriate moments, forming a cohesive listening experience. If you mean having MORE action cues from the expanded release, then no, I don't want that.
P.S. I actually bought the 2CD release when it was released, but it didn't work for me, so I sold it -- reacquiring the promo instead.I am extremely serious. -

Eh, fair enough. -

I stand corrected. Having finished the Billy Goldenberg CD-R, I found the TV and film scores of:
"The Harness" and "Change of Habit"[/b] to be top notch stuff, easily going up against some of Goldsmith's more subdued '80's efforts.
Neither appear to have been on CD or even LP. Both were booted scores. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -

Pretty much a classic Thomas Newman sounding score!

I love "The Diver". Such a romantic, yet longing piece. -

WATERWORLD - JAMES NEWTON HOWARD
Another one from the great year of 1995. My favourite score from the man!"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Yes, the film is a good adventurous romp. I Like the much loathed Cutthroat Island too.
Can it be because both these films have brilliant scores?"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Part of it, of course, but for me it's all about the atmosphere, setpieces etc. Didn't like CUTTHROAT that much, but I saw it much later for the first time. Can't remember much of it now. WATERWORLD I must have seen, what, 10 times, the latest just last weekend (as it was shown on tv).I am extremely serious. -

24: The Game - Sean Callery (ps2 game rip)
24+real orchestra= Pure Awesomeness.
Best thing is to hear some music from the series played by a real orchestra (like the music when Jack takes off from the airport in the second season). -

Isn't the game rip really low quality? I have the soundtrack which is good but it's very short. -
