I'm not going to officially decide on a favorites list from 2007 for some time, because there's still some important scores from 2007 that I don't have yet (most importantly Planet Earth) but for now my top 5 would look something like this...
1) Potc: At World's End
2) Partition (and to think I was going to pass it over until someone on here recommended it...)
3) The Holiday
4) The Water Horse
5) The Last Sin EaterI love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to! -

My favourite musical moment in a film this year would have to be 'Song for Bob' from THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD.A butterfly thinks therefore I am -

Oh, it's certainly up there, indeed
My favorites list;
1. The Bourne Ultimatum
2. Atonement
3. Youth Without Youth
4. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
5. Ratatouille
More random then really 'from best to less' order, though.
And after just coming back from Earth, I can't wait to hear Fenton's score on CD! -

Earth? Here it is called Planet Earth and narrated by David Attenborough. How odd?
Ultimatum and Ratatouille are two of my favourites from this year too. -

That's the TV version of 11 hours. I meant I just saw the movie version of 90 min. in the cinema, narrated by Patrick Steward. Amazing! -

It'll be a while before I can post something here as I have several 2007 releases still to arrive. But when I have them all in, I'll certainly be back. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Wow. Seems that Zimmer has topped most of the lists... or at least made them...
Off Topic: are the suites really worth the price? -

Well...ironically Dead Man's Chest was the worst score of the past year....
I really think much more people had to appreciate what Zimmer has done with this score and his sound, I can see a lot of haters again only blaming him for his name .
If you had the first 3 scores in your house they are not worth to be bought.....Is it Worth to be Heard??? OF COURSE IT IS! Even if the FBI Knocks to your door! -

Well, maybe not the worst score of last year, but definetely not in my top 10 (or 15) of last year, the truth be told. But at least it served to appreciate more the third one, and it had some nice cues.Anything with an orchestra or with a choir....at some point will reach you -

I'm really puzzled why Dead Man's Chest should be the worst score of last years... First of all, you surely must be only counting the big scores for blockbuster movies then? And secondly, Jack's Theme and The Kraken are among the most awesomest cues of the past years! Too bad the rest of the score doesn't live up to it, but I can't see why that score should be so horrobily bad, while At World's End (which is much more similar to it then you give it credit for) it so 'absolutely fantastic' -

Because Dead Man's Chest has an awful release, probably. Most of the amazing cues from the film (most of the Cannibal Island escape, Final fight between Kraken, Dutchman and Pearl) are just NOT on the album.http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website -

Well...the first 3 tracks from Dead Man's Chest are pretty cool, I just wanted to put emphasis in how diferent are the two scores
I can give you 25 reasons why At world's End is fantastic and Dead man's chest is overall bad.
About What Pawel Said..If you listen carefully the tracks you mention you will notice they are not very good. A lot of them sounds poor and unfinished, some others still have the original synth, and the Kraken battle is just a bizarre mix with some "attached" cues on it. -

I'll come up with a list later this week.
I will announce now already that neither Hitman or 300 made the list due to legal reasons I cannot explain as for now. What I can say though, is that in my highly anticipated list there is one Pirate score (AWE? Stardust? Who knows!), one score with a type writer (Atonement? AVP:R? Who knows?!) and one very sad score (Alvind and the Chipminks? Lust, Caution? Michael Clayton? Who knows!?).
Anyway, exciting nonetheless!!!!!Kazoo -
