Well...transformers was influenced by hundreds of Zimmer scores. Specially Batman Beggins, Crimson Tide, BHD and M:I2.

Anyway, you are right. Very bad quality. and a very generic score.

But it has electric guitars! every good lazy Zimmer score must have it! cool

Is it better than Barton's work on the first game?

From the descriptions so far, I'd guess it's pretty much the same thing...

Mmmm...All this elements put together doesn't have to be great.

Do you remember what you said about Bird on a Wire? Warfare is the "bird on a wire" of the new century but without a theme (ok...there is a little motif with electric guitars pretty decent).

Of course it doesn't mean it should be good, but i really want to hear it.

As for Bird on a Wire, that crap is unlistenable and terribly dated.

his joker theme is interesting, the rest of the score is solid, but i think at the same time very effective. i really like his action music style in both batman movies.

It fits the movie PERFECTLY. And even elevates it at places, namely when the Joker motif appears or whenever the bombastic "god chase car" (whatever) material comes out.

for me his bombastic action music always makes the action scenes more exciting. most of the time it's the same simplistic actionmusic, but i like that.

A score should elevate a movie at all points it appears. Otherwise, what's the point of it? What's the point of the score for The Dark Knight? Anyone could write a score that "fits" that film. Even someone with mid-range dramatic ideas as a film composer could have a field day with it, because of how the film is. But the score is just there.

No, no. Not this debate again.....i really feel that what ZImmer wrote IS Nolan's Batman and that's just it. It might not be as traditional and orchestral / symphonic as many people would have wanted, but to me what he did for Nolan, is what Giacchino did for Lost. The exact musical translation of the tone, mood and meanings behind the film, the musical identity and soul of the on-screen drama.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I agree with James, the score just sits there and, for me, does nothing other than wallpaper the scenes. Exceptionally disappointing stuff!

    "Sound
Along with graphical design, Modern Warfare 2’s audio is upped substantially. Authentic weapon sounds and more in-game chatter mix with a beautiful adaptive score by Hans Zimmer."

Haha! It's interesting how Hans hired some of the same guys that were ripping off his own music. Don't get me wrong, I love Two Steps to Hell, but come on.

Where did you get the credits? (Nevermind, I found it)

I only know of Nick Phoenix and Thomas Bergensen as the guys behind TSFH. I know that Bart Hendrickson had done a lot of trailer music as well.

LOVE THEM but they're indeed ripping Zimmer. It's funny how he employed them now, actually he must think they're doing Zimmer as good as he is doing himself so there you go, why not hire them to replace you on auto pilot instead of getting tired? wink
