Depends what you prefer of course, but a cat I could never consider as part of the family like I do a dog. Some people can though, which is great and totally not weird at all.*

Mate, i can assure you that the image of all our family (6 person in total) and 3 cats sitting relaxed on the carpet is nothing different than what you describe; they are home cats, indoors, rarely going outside and they are totally relaxed, all day with us in the house so i don't see where's the difference between the cat and dog, in the aspect you talk about.Love Maintitles. I'd had a cat for all my life when we got the dog (must have been 15-16?), and I've never had a relationship like the one that I do with my dog with any cat my family or I've ever owned. It's strange, it's probably a size thing. This dog is a huge dog, bigger than an average husky, and perhaps the mere fact that you can give him a proper hug (and on a more sobering note; kill you) allows me to respect the animal and therefore love it more as a family member rather than just a pet.
Does he love me? Maybe not, who knows (and I certainly doubt that cats are anymore loving). All I know is I love that dog to bits and would be devastated if anything happened to him.
The difference is there D, for better or worse. As I said, it depends on what you prefer. Your indoor cats are not the same as my outdoor dog by any stretch of the imagination. -

Given the opportunity ( when I'm spotted by him in the street ) Gomez will follow me, I have to walk him home otherwise he'll follow me to wherever I'm going. As a kitten I used to pat my shoulder and he'd scramble up my body to perch there, then he started doing it without any encouragement......for obvious reasons I had to discourage this as he grew bigger

A cat shuts up (oh shit, it doesn't, nag nag, I wantto go outside, nag nag, I want to go inside, nag nag, I don't know what I want but I sure annoy the hell out of my boss). It doesn't disturb neighbours (oh shit, it does, begging for milk), it doesn't eat tons of meat (oh shit, it does), it doesn't annoy the whole day (oh shit, it does), euhm ... Oops.
Shit.
I don't like cats and dogs very much. I'm senseless. Emotionless perhaps. The rumour floating around here is that I killed a cat.
But if I have to choose, I'd choose a young, playful cat. I once had a lot of fun with one when I was 12, but then it was killed by a car. Never had such fun time with an animal. We have an older cat now, and she annoys me from time to time. But as long as I don't need to take care of it (like these sweaty dogs with their flesh hanging out of their mouth) I'm fine. Cats are at least no attention whores.Kazoo -

I have worked in an animal shelter for some time (cat department, natcherly ).
Trust me when I tell you that even an animal a fourth the size of your husky is more than capable of seriously wounding a human being. I've had my share of psychotic cats (mostly due to terrible abuse. poor things. But also simply "disturbed" ones. Mental ones.). I don't doubt it, all dogs are supposed to be 99% wolf. Ironically, my dog is a wimp 99% of the time. He's a big goof ball! (That is until he kills a poor, defenseless swan... we're never letting him off the lead in that area again! )

Two weeks ago I did two assignments for my training. I was feeling good so I decided to work a bit ahead and wrote the two reports, although they don't have to be sent in untill next month. Afterwards I felt great of course, it's nice to have things done, especially in time.
Then yesterday I got one back, it was alright. For the other one: all students got a mail that said that the trainer had posted the wrong document on Moodle. So I wrote the wrong report. Now that is annoying. -

What's annoying...misunderstandings via telephone communication!My only means of communocation wih my man while I'm in Sparta is skype and text messaging.It's very easy to misunderstand someone if you can't hear the tone of his/hers voice or see the facial expresions!And that's what just happened!You men sometimes are so...oh I won't bother saying and begin a whole discussion.I'm angry now!Whatever you gaze rests on,do not use your vision, but the eyes of your soul...She knows better... -

Why don't you get adsl, msn and a webcam dear? Won't cost you significant money these days and you can always avoid the headache (tell me about it) of having to write cold, impersonal text as the primal means of expression.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

You're right, maybe I'm due for another phone call, too. Every evening of this week since Sunday I've been spending all my free time doing nothing but working on finishing this latest costume of mine, with barely any contact with anyone online or off. I need a bit of a social break soon.

Hm, I'm kind of hoping I don't have to do it over... I already did the same assignment less than two years ago. On the other hand, it's a very good excercise and very much of practical use! So the more often the better. But what I did now cannot be used at all, because one document had the assignment in it and there was an attachment with questions we had to answer. The attachment did not belong to the assignment, so I wrote something very weird in the end...

And finding balance between spending time with online friends, offline friends and time alone can be difficult! I don't always notice immediately when I'm out of balance. Just a weird feeling of... something's not right, but what?
