The video almost made me switch the pc off. I hope this is not part of what you consider good British humor 'cause what i heard was a lunatic verbally jerking off on air and it has nothing to do with cultural differences, imo.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Did you read the link I put on the previous page?
It's not what I consider good British humour by any stretch, I thought it was childish, insulting and crass, it was also pre-recorded and someone should have pulled the plug on this before it aired. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

BBC is a serious institution ,isn't it? Every country has twats like him working in the media but usually (at least here) they find their place in trash-tv-stations, not the big, supposedly serious ones.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Yup. Fudge them.
I even did a double take on it. Saw the figure $35, thought that was for CD and shipping and found that acceptable, and then saw in bold at the bottom the total was $54. -

For whatever reason ( and it certainly escapes me ) Brand is very popular in this country, there was even rumour he was to play Johnny Depp's brother in POTC 4.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Have you seen the episode of SOUTH PARK where CANADA went on strike? LMAO
I'm... sure it was very funny. I'm also sure they made no distinction whatsoever between English and French Canada, did they? The one presence of Quebecquers in pop culture that I remember was an episode of Cartoon Network's Cow and Chicken where a group of French Canadian beavers were depicted, and of course they stereotyped them all to be just like actual French people, complete with Parisian accent. I don't care that it was a low-brow children's show, the patriotic outrage I felt was unspeakable. I mean if you were British, how would you feel if you saw, oh, I don't know... Robin Hood personified by, let's say, Kevin Costner? The world will never know we have a unique identity that couldn't be farther from French culture if popular view keeps comparing us to them like that. *sigh*

Bit of polite informational fact: frogs' legs are indeed a French dish, but not traditionally a Quebecquer dish. We tend to concentrate on fries with gravy and cheese.
However, the pejorative term "frog" actually is something that the French and us have in common: it's a perfectly good way to insult people in both France and Quebec.
That's why I made a reference to it.''The mandate, as well as the benefit, of responsibility is the ability to tell when one can afford to be irresponsible.'' - Me -

and it is called Poutine hence my earlier comment.
People have a mix reaction with this culinary delight. It can be really heavy on the stomach. It is so popular that McDonald's has adopted it and incorporated it in its menu and his sold in the other provinces near Québec and also in some of the nearby States of the USA like Vermont and New York State. Some haut de gamme restaurants have refined it to make it more palatable to the higher class.
It looks like this:

This man knows some Robert Charlebois!!! *stunned* And here I was bemoaning the lack of international awareness to the French Canadian culture. Wow. Should've expected it from someone with a screen name like Tintin!
