    Backup, format. Life easy.

    BEST SOLUTION. ALWAYS.

When I have a problem with my PC I don´t hesitate: format the system partition (AT LEAST 2 partitions in the hard drive are mandatory IMO) and in 3 hours (reinstall system, download updates and install programs) you have a new computer. Much better than spending/loosing hours looking for the problem. Granted.

Steven, what hardware do you use for Pro Tools? Mbox2?

What's "Mbox"? An earlier version of the Xbox, 11 attempts before they got it right?

What would've happened if they'd gone all the way past "Zbox"?? Would they have abandoned the project? If only....

They should've stuck to numbers. You don't run out of those. It's like 7up. If they'd kept experimenting we simply would've been drinking 34up instead, and all would be as it is now.

Me, I need far more in music than just film scores even though it's film scores that take up the majority of my shelf space, I think there's near to 800 CD's that are NOT Film scores or Classical music on my shelves though at least half of that is my girl Melanie's stuff. smile

If you know facts, pass them to the principal immediately. If you're honest and tell him everything then you don't have to video / record the bastard actually doing it wink

I have a very bitter taste in my mouth since tuesday and I started to worry this morning. Now, I don't allow myself to Google too often when I have complaints because I have hypochondric tendencies hehe, but I just couldn't resist. The result was very striking and bizar.

I found a health forum where people described the exact same problem, a bitter soapy or metallic taste after eating something that lasts for days. The cause? Pine nuts!

Apparently there's a kind of pine nut from China that can cause taste disturbances. It starts one or two days after eating them (I had pine nuts on sunday) and it can last for days or even weeks! It really sucks because my food tastes like soap!!

Here is some more info (scroll down to risks of eating pine nuts) so in case it happens to you, no need to worry. On a Dutch site I've been told that you can tell the difference between Chinese and other pine nuts, the shape and colour is a bit different. Unfortunately most packages don't say what origin it is...

BTW, I don't mean to scare you or spoil your food, but it's just a warning. If you can choose between Chinese and European pine nuts I suggest you take European, just in case. This is a very nasty experience, I can tell you.

And I love pine nuts too!! But I will be more careful now. slant

They're brilliant when roasted and used on salads. Yum!

Fascinating, Bregje: I had the same experience many times but always shrugged it off as a "bad crop" or something. I had no idea the difference was actually in origin!

    You had that many times?
Really, I don't want this to happen ever again. My food tastes absolutely horrible. It is a very strong bitter taste. I was glad I found other people's experiences on the internet, so that I know I'm not overreacting.

They say it's not dangerous, but that Poison Centre says they are not fit for consumption either (oxidized?). And it just doesn't seem that OK to me, if your taste can be disturbed for weeks, it must be something very strong?

But they are yummy indeed. I had a waldkorn roll with carpaccio, pine nuts and cheese in the afternoon and in the evening at home I made a salad with roasted pine nuts as well.
