Oh yeah, the Esurance site has a preloaded EPK about Star Trek, and you can hear some of Giacchino's music from the film playing in the background.

Some Goldsmith-esque brass clusters, but clearly the bits I hear have Giacchino's hands all over it. Erik and Steven in particular will love it.

Do we know for a fact that this is Giacchino music or is it just canned trailer music?

    Honestly, I have no idea.

It sounds like Giacchino to me. I recognize influences from M:I:III and The Incredibles in the underscore, so it's possible. It's too good for generic trailer music.

Well, until we get confirmation let's not assume.

I agree, sounds like Giacchino. The music right where J.J. starts talking about the cast, sounds really great. And if it isn't Giacchino's music from Star Trek, then I want to know WHAT it is, so I can buy it! smile

If it's Giacchino's music, then it sounds like there's some good material there.

But (warning: rant coming) - MY WORD - I hate the way they make these promos look like they're mini-documentaries. Interviews with everyone saying - 'we always wanted to do it, we had a great time doing it, we can't wait for you to see how cool it is'. These are the true mockumentaries, loaded with devices of documentary making but short on any truth that doesn't push the product.
